Yesterday's engagement with Principal Investigators and innovators under the Infrastructure Innovations Bureau reaffirmed my conviction that Uganda's transformation will not be engineered by ambition alone, but by converting research into deployable technologies, resilient infrastructure, competitive industries, and measurable national productivity. Our conversations reinforced a simple but profound truth: innovation only creates national value when it solves real problems, scales across sectors, and improves the lives of our people.

A nation aspiring to build a US$500 billion economy by 2040 must treat science, technology and innovation as strategic economic capital, not peripheral expenditure. Every innovation commercialized, every patent protected, every prototype industrialized, every research partnership strengthened, and every technology transferred into production accelerates our journey towards higher productivity, import substitution, value addition, export competitiveness, quality jobs, and sustainable prosperity. The pathway to transformational growth is neither accidental nor rhetorical; it is deliberately built through knowledge, innovation, and disciplined execution.

I remain committed to championing evidence-based collaboration that bridges academia, industry, government, and the private sector, ensuring that innovation moves beyond laboratories into factories, communities, markets, and national development programmes. Together, we must cultivate an ecosystem where ideas become enterprises, research becomes wealth, and science becomes the engine of Uganda's industrialization, global competitiveness, and enduring prosperity for present and future generations.

Starlink bosses met President Museveni to get his blessings or green card to open an internet business here that will provide cheaper and faster Satellite linked Internet to Ugandans, including those in remote areas.
