.@JamesTalarico: The young people here might not remember this, but those of you who are a little older might. Not so long ago, you could afford to live a good life here in America.
You could buy a home in your 20s. You could go to college for cheap or free. You could support a whole family on one paycheck. You could afford to get married, have kids, and retire comfortably. You could fulfill your God-given potential.
We called it the American Dream.
In the middle of the 20th century, we invested in healthcare and education. We built homes and highways. We protected workers' rights and paychecks. We blocked consolidation and encouraged competition. We built the largest, strongest middle class in the history of the world.
But today that middle class has disappeared. For too many of our neighbors, the American Dream has become an American Nightmare.
We can't afford a home, but Jeff Bezos has at least a dozen. We can't afford to fill up our tank, but Mark Zuckerberg is launching helicopters from his mega-yacht. One in five Texas children live in poverty — but one of our residents became the world's first trillionaire.
The top 1% put the American Dream behind a paywall.
My great uncle was a combat medic in Patton’s 3rd Army during g the Battle of the Bulge. You never talked about his experiences, except in a letter to be opened after his death. The below is blasphemy from a draft dodger.
PabloReports: Do you agree with Senator Cornyn that there is nothing that can be done to constrain Trump?
Warren: No. Republicans have the majority. They could constrain Trump on war, on these slimy tax deals, on his corruption. The list is long. But to do that, they would actually have to grow a spine. And so far, what we have around here is a bunch of gelatinous blobs.
#BREAKING: Talarico: “The president of the United States just said that I insulted Jesus. You wanna know what insults Jesus? Kicking the sick off their healthcare while cutting taxes for billionaires. You know what insults Jesus? Deporting the stranger and separating babies from their mothers. You know what insults Jesus? Bombing innocent school children in #Iran and sending our brave men and women off to die in another forever war. You know what insults Jesus? Covering up the #Epstein files and then refusing to prosecute a single person in them.”😳

The U.S. National Debt is $40T
Donald Trump accumulated $16T of that $40T
In just 6 years, Donald Trump has been responsible for 40% of the debt our country has ever accumulated in 250 years.
Stop asking what fascism will look like when it arrives - it's already fucking here.
Ask why voter lists, political punishment, mass detention, censorship & loyalty tests somehow still aren’t enough for you to recognize the bastard.
Fascism is cancer and it will kill you.
Conservative cultural revolutions are not about restoring morality. They are about restoring control over women, workers, education, sexuality, history, art, language, and anyone whose freedom threatens the hierarchy.
Conservative cultural revolutions never create a golden age. They create censorship, scapegoats, obedient schools, frightened artists, and a ruling class stealing everything while the public fights over who is allowed to exist.
Is it a “God thing” to kick millions of people off of food assistance and healthcare? Is it a “God thing” to mistreat immigrants and terrorize them? Is it a “God thing” to prevent the release of the Epstein files? Is it a “God thing” to keep people in power who do those things?
This world isn’t collapsing because humanity became too compassionate, too equal or too free. It is collapsing because greedy fucking sociopaths converted governments into protection rackets for wealth and empire.
Imagine the amount of propaganda it took to convince millions of people that healthcare, food assistance, social programs, clean water, clean air, good wages, housing, equal rights, diversity and a healthy planet for all people was somehow a threat to America and to Christianity.
James Talarico: “You may not be interested in politics, but politics is interested in you. Your boss at work, he cares about politics. Your landlord, he cares about politics. Your insurance company cares about politics. Until you care about politics, they’re gonna keep using the political system to screw you over”
Billionaires want you fighting over pronouns while they purchase judges, politicians, newspapers and entire neighborhoods.
The culture war is camouflage for class war.
