If an identifiable Jewish customer walks into a coffee shop wearing a kippah or Magen David, are they expected to first disclose their views on Middle East policy before being served?

That is precisely why this matters.

Public accommodations cannot condition service on political or religious litmus tests. Singling out a Jewish member of Congress as a “genocide enabler” because of his support for Israel and suggesting his money is unwelcome does not promote dialogue or discourse…it normalizes discrimination. New Yorkers should never have to pass an ideological test to buy a cup of coffee. Period.

This rational makes no sense. When Israel had no Iron Dome, terrorist rockets just crashed into Israeli towns. Israel had to respond. From the advent of Iron Dome in 2011 until October 7, Israel absorbed many rocket attacks and responded more moderately - because of Iron Dome.
