My beautiful little school St Joseph’s Kingswood would love to add some more casuals to our list! Any 4th year students looking for casual work? Please contact me :) #acuedu_p
As a school, we regularly select a pupil who needs ‘10% kinder’ from all staff - everyone makes the extra effort to be positive and warm for a young person having a hard time - we have really embraced this as a team, and it can make a huge difference for a child in a tough week.
Grateful to work with experienced and knowledgeable educators…having conversations which help me grow into a better teacher are gold. The learning journey never stops! That’s the beauty of teaching and education.
AGENCY comes to life when students attain newfound power to initiate learning, with one another, organised around their purpose, passions & motivations. Once teachers get used to the #studentagency 'power shift'-power TO, not power over students - learning flourishes. CSE, 2022.
Really enjoyed teaching the EDFD452 tutorial tonight!! Thank you to all who attended and your participation! Lots of rich discussion on classroom management and managing tricky behaviour #acuedu_p
Should Ss behaviour choices be reflected on a whole class display? A name on a peg moved to first warning etc? What is the purpose and…is there a better way?
Week 7 of Term 1…Covid, floods, war overseas… who knows what else for individuals…
The well-being of both teachers and students is at the forefront of my mind as we head into the second half of this term.
Look out for each other.
Thanks to everyone for attending my tutorial tonight despite the interesting weather at the moment. I enjoyed meeting you all and look forward to working with you this semester! Many great discussions to be had about the joys and challenges of the teaching profession. #acuedu_p
A quick book sort at the end of the maths lesson - students self-assessing their understanding and also informing my teaching for the next lesson!
Simple but very effective.
Today we had our first case management meeting of the year at St Joseph’s Kingswood as a stage group. A rich discussion between teachers, sharing ideas and strategies to support students in their learning. These conversations are gold.
