Today the UK celebrates 250 years of independence from the tyranny of the United States of America. Imagine living in a society where the leader can repeatedly break the law and nobody stops them!

Today 274 young men from Nepal were told they had been selected from many to become Gurkhas in the British Army. Within minutes, they were being marched around camp, issued clothing and starting the path to becoming a soldier.

I am delighted and honoured to win the Special Recognition - Pride of Britain Award 2024.

We (persons with disability - POD) can also be a pride of our family, friends, community, nation and the world.

Please join me to change the perception on persons with disability but also inspire others to climb their own mountain and conquer their dream whatever that might be.

This means that “Life is all about adaptation and nothing is impossible.”

Today marks the anniversary of J.R.R. Tolkien’s death. The professor certainly knew how to throw a party.

This is dedicated to our TLG mucker @jamescartner. The wonderful Westland Wessex first flew #OTD 20th June 1958. I remember watching them as a boy, and yet James actually flew them, and probably damaged a few, in @RoyalAirForce service. Retired in 2003. The Wessex, not Jimbo…

[Top Landing Gear @TopLandingGear]

I almost forgot… @TopLandingGear’s @jamescartner & @RobCurling will be live @bbcradio2 tonight Sun, around 0020 on @OJBorg’s #MidnightMastermind, hosted tonight by @PhilWilliams. If you can stay awake, and I’m not sure I can😴, please listen in. It’ll be quiz-tastic. 📻
