Meiselas: I mean, over the weekend, screaming at Kristen Welker: “I really won the 2020 election.” It’s like, shut up, man. Grow up. It’s 2026.
How do you bankrupt so many things? This is how he’s bankrupted so many things.
What the hell are you doing in the Strait of Hormuz? You’re pretending that this blockade is going to crush Iran. You told us 60 days ago that Iran had three days left
You told everybody, and the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times and state-regime media published your crap, that Iran had three days left because, you said, they’re suffering so much and their pipes just can’t handle all of the oil pressure. The oil pressure is going to cause an explosion on Kharg Island, and Iran is going to blow up. We’ve got them right where we want them.
And so we’re going to make a deal, and our deal is going to be so strong and powerful. It didn’t happen.
Platner: The national pundits, the political establishment, they keep looking for that one story, that one headline, that one moment in my life that they can define the campaign by. But in trying so hard to understand me, they failed to understand that this is not about me at all.
This is a movement about us.
Air raid sirens sounding again across Bahrain, as Iran launches its second drone and missile attack this morning against the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet Headquarters.
Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA) faked a phone call for roughly 90 seconds after being asked about Speaker Mike Johnson’s comments regarding potential Social Security cuts.
The phone's screen remained visible, with his cheek inadvertently tapping different parts of the display.
Dallas Goedert: "I was able to test for agency a little bit. Had opportunities to go elsewhere. Nothing was a better opportunity than I thought I could have here. Being able to play in the same place for nine years is special. It would have had to be something really drastic to have me try to sign somewhere else."
The player I’ve heard the most praise for this spring? Riq Woolen.
Might be some novelty bias because it’s their first time seeing him, but he’s showing up in this session, too. Remained tight in coverage vs. DeVonta Smith.
Reminds me of the way Zack Baun, Isaiah Rodgers were received two years ago. They could tell right away.
@MeidasTouch@Oceanblue721 Trump is about to find out how truly stupid he is. The sad part is that the American people will continue paying the price. 😳😩 It's going to get so ugly. Between Trump's war with Iran, and the desperation from them to win in November, we're going to witness so much horror!!! 😱
Explosions have now been reported near Sirik Port, on Qeshm Island, and in the Bandar Abbas area, according to Iranian media.
Trump just told ABC News: “They shot down a helicopter, and we are responding as we speak,” adding that the response should be “very strong, very powerful.”
The Big Beautiful Stroke
Kudos to Meet the Press’ Kristen Welker for standing firm in the face of a barrage of deflection, conspiracy theories, and personal attacks. Watching her calmly return, over and over again, to the same simple question, “Where’s the evidence?” was a reminder of what journalism is supposed to be. I will admit, though, as Trump lurched from grievance to grievance, called everyone crooked except himself, and appeared one interruption away from spontaneous combustion, part of me thought we might be witnessing the long-awaited debut of the BIG BEAUTIFUL STROKE. Instead, what we got was the same old performance: anger masquerading as evidence, volume masquerading as truth, and a man so allergic to accountability that he eventually took his ball and went home.
The humor, unfortunately, gives way to something more serious. The president of the United States should be capable of answering questions without treating every challenge as a personal attack. When a leader cannot distinguish between scrutiny and persecution, democracy itself becomes the target. The free press is not there to flatter politicians, protect their feelings, or amplify their grievances. Its job is to ask questions, demand evidence, and hold power accountable, regardless of who occupies the Oval Office.
What made the exchange so remarkable was not Trump’s behavior. We have seen this movie countless times before. The moment facts become inconvenient, the accusations begin. The reporter is crooked. The network is crooked. The courts are crooked. The elections are crooked. Everyone is corrupt except the man making the claims. What stood out was Welker’s refusal to be intimidated. She remained calm, professional, and focused on the facts while Trump unraveled in real time.
That is what journalism looks like. Not shouting. Not posturing. Not becoming part of the spectacle. Just a reporter doing her job while a president struggles to do his. Kristen Welker walked away from that interview with her credibility intact. Trump walked away from it because he had run out of answers.

Not Just a Drummer: Reflections on Art, Politics, Dogs, and the Human Condition
Trump tried to mock Hunter Biden's "past." Hunter's reply: "I'm 28 felonies, 6 bankruptcies, and an Epstein bromance short of his checkered past."
Donald Trump should have known better than to pick this fight.
Hunter Biden, now seven years sober, has come roaring back on social media, and he is using it to do something the entire Democratic establishment has been too timid to try: hit Trump where it actually hurts, with a smile.
It started when a reporter asked Trump in the Oval Office whether Hunter could run for president in 2028. Trump took the bait, sniffing that Hunter's "past is not the greatest."
Hunter's response went up fast and went viral instantly: "Did he just say checkered past? I'm 28 felonies, 6 bankruptcies, and an Epstein bromance short of his checkered past."
Do the math on that. Trump was convicted on 34 felony counts. His businesses filed for bankruptcy six times. And his long, well-documented friendship with Jeffrey Epstein speaks for itself. Hunter just reminded the whole country of all three in one sentence.
Here's how you know it landed. The next morning, at 6:42 a.m., Trump was on Truth Social posting a bizarre AI-generated image of Hunter sketching a portrait of him labeled "Greatest President."
A grown man, the President of the United States, up before dawn posting cartoon slop because a private citizen got the better of him.
That's the whole thing. Trump can dish it out for a decade, but the moment someone hands it right back, he can't sleep.
Hunter Biden isn't asking for anyone's permission anymore. He's just landing punches.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the extraordinary outbursts of the President of the United States against female journalists... well, actually against journalists in general and journalism. But it feels like he saves his most childlike behavior and irrational language for female reporters, calling them all kinds of names that kids in kindergarten are given times out for. It’s stunning to me to witness such behavior from any leader, any CEO, any person of influence or importance. I’ve never witnessed someone like this raging, this weekend with @meetthepress host @kwelkernbc, just last week in the Oval Office with @cnn’s @kaitlancollins, calling women stupid or piggy, telling them to “smile”, calling them darling, demeaning their credibility. Every good man should denounce this behavior. Every person should be able to stand up for their colleagues and say “No more.”
Imagine this man screaming like this at your daughter, your wife, your sister, your mother... would you stand for it? No, you wouldn’t! And neither should any of us. It’s unacceptable and undignified. Period. End of story.
