One more thing, while we were at the restaurant, I asked the organizers about next steps so I could pre-book my ride home. They just laughed and told me, “We have no idea either.”
I want to emphasize that this post is in no way a criticism of the artists or the company. All the artists remained professional, kind, and patient with fans throughout. However, I would like to share the difficulties we experienced in detail due to the organizer’s lack of preparation, communication, and adaptability. The typhoon contributed to some of the later problems, but most of the issues occurred well before the weather warnings were issued.
I hope fans, the artists, and the company will not remember Hong Kong only for the difficulties of this event. I hope we can create great memories together again next time.
Registration
* Registration was scheduled to start at 11 a.m., but the registration staff were not ready at that time.
* Most registration staff only spoke Mandarin. Many international fans (including Thai fans) were attending the Hong Kong show.
* Staff were not familiar with the benefits linked to different ticket tiers. This caused inefficiency and led to average queue times of 1 to 1.5 hours in hot and humid weather.
* Closer to the start of the soundcheck, staff required everyone to form a single line. This mixed fans who had not yet redeemed their tickets/benefits with those who were ready to enter, further slowing the process.
* When fans asked about the lack of efficiency and organization, staff replied that they were not the people in charge and could not help, without offering to check with the organizer.
* There were no clear instructions on how to redeem benefits. Several staff members remained on standby while fans were already waiting. The lack of proactive guidance was one of the main reasons the redemption process took so long.
During the Benefit Session
* The translator only spoke Thai and Mandarin, while the organizer only spoke Mandarin. Many international fans missed important announcements about benefits and programme changes.
* Ground staff inside the venue were helpful and proactive, but they had not been properly briefed by the organizer. As a result, they were unsure about the programme rundown and the details of different benefits.
* During photo sessions, one fan hugged an artist around the waist and the photo was allowed. More fans then tried to do the same, after which bodyguards began intervening. To respect the artists, the organizer should have clearly stated in advance which poses were not allowed (for example, full-body waist hugs). Not everyone shares the same understanding of boundaries.
* During the 1-on-1 talks on stage, the organizer repeatedly used the microphone to make announcements. This interrupted fans’ time with the artists and left loud announcements in their videos. Other events usually use a bell system so that fans of different artists start at the same time, reducing interruptions.
* All of the above took place before 5 p.m. The Hong Kong Observatory only announced at 5 p.m. that Strong Wind Signal No. 3 would be upgraded to Storm Signal No. 8 at 10:10 p.m. Typhoon Noul therefore cannot be used as an explanation for problems that occurred before 5 p.m.
* Most of the benefits finished around 7:30 p.m. According to the original schedule, the show itself was supposed to start at 7 p.m. By this point the artists, especially Mile and Apo, had been on stage almost continuously, with only a 15-minute break.
* Because of the delay, the top-up benefit sessions (including CP talks) were moved to after the fancon. This change was only announced in Mandarin.
During the Fancon Show
* The show itself was good — all the artists gave strong performances. However, at the beginning the microphones for Mile and Apo did not work properly. Their voices would be normal one moment and almost inaudible the next.
* During the singing segments, the sound from the back of the venue was out of sync with the sound from the front of the stage. The latency created an echo effect that was distracting for the audience.
After the Fancon Show
* Almost all announcements were made only in Mandarin. There were virtually no English or Thai announcements about the next arrangements, leaving many fans confused.
* There was no coordination between the organizer and the ground staff. Staff on the first floor did not know that fans with unfinished benefit sessions needed to take a coach to another location.
* When fans were moved to the new location, no further explanations or instructions were given. Fans were left in a restaurant at 10 p.m. with no staff present, as the staff had to return to collect the second coach.
* By 10:10 p.m. the Hong Kong Observatory had officially issued Storm Signal No. 8. It also stated that Storm Signal No. 9 would likely be issued around 1–2 a.m., which would mean all public transport would stop. Very few taxis would be willing to pick up passengers once Signal No. 8 or higher was in force, as insurance does not cover injuries or losses under those conditions.
* The 30-second private talks began around 11:30 p.m. Before they started, the organizer asked every table and every person for the number and type of benefits they held. Since each benefit was only 30 seconds, the total time required (including short breaks for the artists) could have been estimated easily.
* At 12:20 a.m., when only 13 rights (about 7 minutes) remained for the MA CP talks, the organizer suddenly announced that they would close the CP talk sessions and only finish the remaining solo talks.
* The organizer offered a refund for the remaining 13 rights, but the message was delivered in an impolite manner. Of those 13 rights, 6 belonged to Hong Kong fans. At an event held in Hong Kong for local fans, these private talk sessions were cancelled after 13 hours of waiting and after public transport had already stopped.
* If there was really an issue, then in the beginning the organizer should have offered the options to all benefit holders before moving the fans to the restaurant. It was not fair to apply it to a random group of fans.
* Fortunately, those of us who had the MA CP talk benefits strongly insisted on our rights. After the company and the artists gave their consent, all remaining benefit sessions were completed by 1 a.m.
I already told you what Po thinks
Why are you still asking🤭
PS: It’s been a chaotic day, but MileApo healed me as always. I truly believe both of them and every single fan deserving to be treated with genuine respect.

I grew up watching ANTM and I admit at first I didn’t have high expectations. But Mile, your dedication and professionalism once again won my heart. The kids may not be the most capable now but I believe their careers will benefit from this.
