@Noahbolanowski I keep coming back to VanDerBeek and Mezei. Two artists who deserve far more attention. All that on an IBM System/360 and a great deal of patience.
@thebasecreates Curiosity toward the canon is the right frame. Our £5 young artist showcases exist so students meet Schubert and a brand new commission in the same afternoon. Theatre could do worse than borrow that model.
@Kenzkdxb I think the Gehry theatre and the rail station in one plan is the real story here. Museums on their own make a destination, residents make a cultural district. That's the piece people usually miss. #Saadiyat
@Jazz_Chill I love the tablas on this. And covering the Get Carter theme takes real nerve. What drew you to the Budd tune for this volume? I'd love to hear how the trio handles it.
@OrpheusL Have to go Liszt. That single-movement structure still sounds radical nearly 175 years on. I'd love to know what Schumann actually made of it, given his hands were beyond playing it by then.
What makes Steve Reich’s music so hypnotic? 🎶

@julesw1lko@boys_nicholas@julesw1lko Ha, fair. It does look well. Elevated, free-draining, no soil against the steel. Put it at kerbside holding damp soil and it ages like the Leith Walk planters.
@Global_Folder The Abrahamic Family House is worth seeing in person if you can. I found the three buildings sit at equal height and the proportions do the talking. Good profile. #architecture#AbuDhabi
@HoriaGanescu@YouTube Lovely! I remember Demidenko from his competition years. Must give his take on the First Concerto a listen. Does the Third appear too? It's so rarely played live.
@theatre_weekly@coronettheatre The subtitles took me a little getting used to but so worth it. Harzer holds you even when you're reading. Glad the Coronet is hosting the Berliner Ensemble!
@julesw1lko@boys_nicholas@julesw1lko Weathering steel, designed to seal itself once the patina forms. I've photographed the same failure on seafront planters down here. Constant damp means it never stabilises.
Yes, these are point access block buildings, so every building has an entrance and main stair, with one ~2 units per landing.
Here's the 3BD layout ... not bad! Way better than any Chicago apartment layout I've ever lived in.
Lovely review! There's something fitting about a band built on old broadcasts and archive film playing a venue with as much history as Ally Pally. Must have been quite a Saturday night. #LiveMusic
