My point being: If one optimizes the mindset towards beauty and the highest possible of values, the chances of perceiving things as beautiful and meaningful should increase.
Ever wondered why something IS beautiful? Is there anything wrong with that question? Not sure, but maybe a more useful question should be, why is that thing beautiful to me? This gives us control over the mindset for which we perceive things.
There you have a tool for the betterment of the soul.
I know I just discovered warm water but it feels good to get to these conclusions in random thoughts.
@sadasant Mmm I see, I then need a more specific word for expressing great appreciation for the object of focus. Yes!! Gotcha! We are enjoying the convo!!
Could attention be framed as optimal optimism and curiosity over the content rather than just mere directed interest? I am starting to believe the biggest component of it is optimism.
@javiermalpica94@victhorivas yeah, at the end I believe there are absolute truths which we all should abide to, at the very least to work towards a net positive outcome for the parties involved, and to not hurt yourself not others.
@sadasant I see, I agree it is not optimal based in the net outcome, although what I meant is that the effectiveness of the focused activity increases in my view. Maybe optimal was not a good word choice 😅
@sadasant Yes @javiermalpica94 that’s exactly what I mean.
I also think I understand what @sadasant ‘s concerns are in this conversation. An in my opinion, they might be in a slightly parallel and equally important conversation.
I am probably pretty late today jeje but @sadasant . In here I am referring to relative optimism. In this case it is relative to your ability to comprehend and to your openness to convince yourself you will get something relevant to you. What you make relevant is different.
Self-destructive people or even with bad intentions can be optimistic about the content they are engaged to. That (could render them more focused on that as well)

@javiermalpica94 I am forced to think in focus in different ways as I’ve been victim of too much thought distraction. And I think it has been paying of.
@javiermalpica94 As an analogy, I would say that if we make ourselves truly convinced that the most boring thing in the world can offer an insightful and rewarding experience, no matter what it is, our ability to focus should be closer to optimal. Same is also true for the opposite case.
@javiermalpica94 You are making an interesting point here. Optimism towards a goal. It is a great way to think about it.
I think we are thinking exactly the same thing. I am entertaining the idea of feeling good (optimist) towards the utility of the content (maybe the reward?).
