Five African stock exchanges flew into Lagos on April 1 to sit in a room and discuss one deal. Johannesburg. Nairobi. Accra. The Ethiopian Securities Exchange. The West African BRVM.

The deal? Cross-listing the Dangote Refinery across African exchanges.

This has never happened before. No single company has ever brought five African exchanges to the same table. Lagos is becoming the capital of African capital markets, and most Nigerians do not even realize what is happening in their own city.

The prospectus goes to SEC this month. Roadshow starts May. Listing between June and July. Valued at over $20 billion. If this lists at the high end of analyst projections, it alone will be worth more than half of everything currently on the NGX combined.
