Serious question - regardless of your position on police funding, does anyone truly think this is a role for police? It seems to highlight a gap that police are filling in the interim, but shouldn't be the real solution for. Mental Health issues need support, not policing.

@wmcbeath @smccreary I'm always open to seeing Canada-specific data, but research from countries that do have it all say the same thing - these kinds of guns are dangerous and unnecessary for most people. While there's certainly more to do around illegal weapons, this is a good step.
