Para terminar, um caso que me aconteceu recentemente. Nas provas de um livro vinha um comentário de alguém da editora a propor ao autor que substituísse "por si mesmas" por "per se", em itálico naturalmente.

Ele há quem use em PT palavras que o inglês tomou de empréstimo ao latim sem alterações, em vez das portuguesas da silva que evoluíram a partir das mesmas palavras em latim.

Exemplo: "curriculum/curricula" em vez de currículo/s.

Agora um exemplo relacionado com a pronúncia.

Marçal Grilo, quando era ministro da educação, pronunciava item à inglesa (aitam), ignorando que esta palavra latina é tão portuguesa como inglesa.
