I went to unilag yesterday for the first time, and I can't lie I'm very jealous, no school is touching that level of exposure in Nigeria.
😭 A large chunk of them have active LinkedIn pages.
They are always doing something that prepares them for the real world. OOU never offered me such 💔💔
I just saw a suited security operative argue with another driver and then go straight to his car to grab a gun. What kind of country am I living in? And this is Lekki, not Oshodi.
Things can be inanimate or experiences. I have seen so much beauty in life, and I can't even begin to compare or rank them. One thing I still long for is the keen sense of smell I had when I was younger. I could not just see things but experience them on another level with scent.
Sunsets and flying above clouds are still my favorite experiences of the beauty of the universe.
Started writing tests for Node.js APIs today.
Coming from smart contract development, I already knew the value of testing before deploying with real money. Same principle applies to backend, you catch what manual testing misses.
Mocha for running tests, Chai for assertions, Sinon for mocking dependencies. The pattern is the same everywhere: isolate the unit, control the inputs, assert the output.
The part most people skip is understanding WHY you mock. When you stub User.findOne to throw an error, you’re not testing MongoDB. You’re testing that your controller handles database failures correctly. That distinction matters.
Testing isn’t extra work. It’s the work that prevents 3 AM production fires😂.
Day 15.
If you RT and reply “ V4 ” in the comment. I promise to personally DM you when this hackathon goes LIVE.
Asides the cash prizes, this will be the largest payment hackathon in Nigeria and you’ll get to learn directly from the @theflutterwave’s team ( I’m putting this into the plans)
You’ll learn about security in payment, how to effectively use Flutterwave latest API, and if you don’t even build a startup from the hackathon, you’ll be a good hire for any fintech platform. As long as you’re serious.
I’ll let you know when you can start forming your team once this is ready.
