I’m not joining the Accra run clubs but I would be interested in some sort of female sports club- football, rugby, tennis, something but only women- do they exist?
Alot of people don’t choose partners based on what they want but rather what is socially acceptable to their community I.e family, friends, colleagues.
So after this mini rant I sat down with @HeadlessYouTube to shed more light on the payment wahala creatives and freelancers in Ghana face when receiving money from outside. Bigups to @sendwaveapp for providing a solution to this. WATCH!
When you receive bad news, don’t let the first thing be to tell people or run on social media. Sit with that thing for a minute, process it, cry if you must, but you’ve got to allow yourself to process it.
Rich Ghanaian parents pay $18,000 a year at DPS International. $16,000 at Tema International School. Why?
Because their kids do the IB Diploma. SATs. Strong English. Strong essays. So they go straight to Harvard, MIT, Yale, Cornell on full scholarships.
Meanwhile, a brilliant kid in Kasoa, Tamale, or Ho is doing WASSCE thinking the best he can hope for is Legon or KNUST.
Same brain. Different information.
The rich kids aren’t smarter than you. They just had parents who knew the game.
Here’s the truth nobody tells you:
You don’t need DPS. You don’t need TIS. You don’t need rich parents.
I sold sachet water in Ghana. I went to Berea College on a full scholarship. Now I’m a software engineer in Dallas.
My friends from humble homes did it too. From WASSCE straight to top US universities. Full ride.
The system was hidden from us. Not from them.
https://t.co/pursEFinfC exists so the kid in the village has the same map as the kid in East Legon.

I know the frontal I’m getting done at this salon is currently not going according to plan and the saxophones are going off…and it’s worse because I can see the fear in the eyes of the other hairdressers. It looks horrible but she keeps going. I’ll let her, and see if I’m wrong about the end result.
600 more Ghanaians register at our High Commission to be evacuated from South Africa.
When the safety and dignity of Ghanaians are at stake, the Government of Ghana does not compromise or dither.
I am immensely proud of the resilient spirit of Ghanaians.
See you soon -- there's no place like home.
For God and Country 🇬🇭 🙏🏾

Wealth acts as a buffer against discrimination. Poverty and marginalization often compound each other.
Being poor makes almost any social disadvantage harder to navigate because you have fewer resources, fewer options, and less privacy.
Being gay in Ghana is not as illegal as being poor and gay.
Poor queer people are the ones who suffer the most from anti-queer laws. Because if you have safe shelter, ain’t no one checking for gay people in Ghana 🇬🇭 you’re most vulnerable if you don’t have shelter that allows you privacy.
For instance living as a gay man in a compound house is not safe, living as a queer man in a home guarded by security now thats safe.
Which is why you don’t see so many wealthy queer people in Ghana fighting the cause, because they don’t need to, why would they, they are safe.
@RealLifeNutriKE I stay away from bread, as I’m gluten intolerant. Also the carbs spark my carb cravings so unless I’m eating it with avocado and eggs - it’s best to avoid it for me. Protein and fiber are game changers.
I don’t know who needs to hear this but cut eating Waakye, jollof rice etc for breakfast and eat eggs. 6 egg whites and sardines will change the trajectory of your day.
You’ll stop snacking.
You’ll stop thinking about food consistently.
You’ll feel overall better.
Then during the day, max out on fibers and proteins! Sardines, chicken, spinach, big bowls of lettuce, avocado and cucumbers.
You’ll stop feeling lethargic and start feeling energized.
If the message is for you- take it.
