1/n | FRESH ENCROACHMENT & TREE FELLING IN PATTANDUR AGRAHARA LAKE Sy 54 in WHITEFIELD?

a) According to public bystanders, people claiming to be from Puravankara Group, and employees of CMG Security, belonging to serving minister KJ George, were caught them red-handed felling fully grown trees on a Govt Land, without permission. They were ordered to stop felling and investigation is in progress, according to DCF GBA.

b) Lake land background: While the encroachment of 11 acres of the property is a matter sub-judice in an ongoing High Court case, this portion of around 2 acres (south east), is un-encroached land as per the Govt encroachment report - ie., it is undisputed Govt property. (Pls see pic of govt report sketch attached)

c) Are these people trespassing and cutting trees in the Govt land?

d) Further, in the disputed portions of Sy 54, a lot of tree felling has occurred along the periphery of the land parcel, without permission from Forest Dept, in the past few weeks.

e) We demand that the BECC Commissioner and GBA Chief Commissioner, immediately take action to secure and protect this Govt lake land, which needs to be restored into a lake. @BECCUPDATES @GBAChiefComm @GBA_office @CMofKarnataka

f) We demand that the GBA Forest Cell take action against the perpetrators / custodian of the land, who have cut many trees along the periphery of the entire Sy 54, without tree-felling permission. @aranya_kfd

Flash protest by residents of ECC Road & Prithvi Layout, Whitefield against a proposed liquor shop in a residential neighbourhood.

Today, residents gathered in protest after serious concerns over how objections were handled by Excise Dept officials.

The protest followed a so-called public hearing (3 Jan 2026) where the Excise Dy Superintendent (Sub-Division 10) allegedly brought in non-residents to intimidate and drown out the voices of actual residents.

Residents describe the hearing as a sham:
• Aggressive, menacing behaviour by hired crowd
• Attempts to browbeat and silence locals
• Genuine objections ignored

The mahazar report prepared by Sri Basavaraj Kanmani DySp Excise contains multiple irregularities:
❌ Area falsely termed “commercial” (Area is completely residential, with a few grocery shops and bakery)
❌ Temple within 60m dismissed as “unregistered”
❌ School within 150m misrepresented
❌ School parking abuts shop location

More ignored facts:
• Thousands of children & families use this road daily
• Temple, school & grocery access via same stretch
• All adjacent buildings are purely residential
These realities were completely overlooked.

Even more alarming:
⚠️ Reports of threats to the temple priest
⚠️ Clear signs of collusion between excise officials & the liquor shop applicant

Residents refuse to be intimidated.
Residents of ECC Road & Prithvi Layout have resolved to fight this legally, civically, and publicly.
Every available avenue will be used to protect our neighbourhood, children, and peace.

DEN OF VIOLATIONS 🛑
The proposed liquor shop building itself is illegal:
• No valid trade license possible
• No legal water, power or sewage connections possible
• Road width < 40 ft → commercial use prohibited
• Shop planned in the parking area of the building plan
