மறக்கவே முடியாத நாள் இன்று!

3 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பாக பரந்தூர் சென்று ஏகனாபுரம் உள்ளிட்ட கிராம மக்களின் குமுறல்களை ஆவணப்படுத்தி “பரந்தூர் Files" என்ற பெயரில் வெளியிட்டோம்.

யார் நினைத்தாலும் இந்த திட்டத்தை தடுக்க முடியாது என்று சில அரசு அதிகாரிகள் என்னிடம் சொன்னார்கள். சென்று வேறு வேலை இருந்தால் பாருங்கள் என்றும் அலட்சியப்படுத்தினர். மத்திய அரசு தரப்பில் இருந்த பிரதிநிதிகளிடம் கூட நான் தயாரித்த ஆவணங்களை காட்டி, இந்த திட்டம் ஏன் வரக்கூடாது என்பதை பற்றி விளக்கி இருந்தேன். ஆனால் பதில் வரவில்லை. மாறாக எனக்கு தான் பாடம் எடுத்து அனுப்பினார்கள்.

சென்னைக்கு இன்னொரு விமானநிலையம் வரக்கூடாது என்பது நோக்கம் அல்ல. கம்பன் கால்வாய் என்பது புறநகர் சென்னை பகுதிகளில் இருக்கும் நீர்நிலைகளின் மூல ஆதாரமாக விளங்குகிறது. அதை முழுமையாக அகற்றிவிட்டு செய்யப்படும் இந்த திட்டம் என்பது சென்னைக்கும் சேர்த்தே ஆபத்தை ஏற்படுத்தும். பறவைகளின் வழித்தடமாக இருக்கும் ஒரு ஊர் தான் பரந்தூர். இயற்கை தாய்யின் மடியில் கைவைத்துவிட்டு, ஒரு திட்டம் வந்தால், அது எப்படி பார்த்தாலும் சரியாக இருக்காது என்பதே உண்மை.

இந்த தருணத்தில் கிட்டத்தட்ட 1000 நாட்களாக அறவழியில் போராடிய ஏகனாபுரம் மக்களுக்கும் இந்திய ஜனநாயகத்தின் மீது அவர்கள் வைத்த நம்பிக்கைக்கும் முதல் நன்றி.

#JanaNayagan - Thalapathy celebration in full. Above the actual weight of the film, it's about enjoying Thalapathy Vijay on the big screen in his full form, with punch dialogues, action sequences and his evergreen dance moves. Serves well as a theatrical experience for sure!

The film has a very good first half where H. Vinoth nicely retains the core of Bhagavanth Kesari and keeps the whistle worthy moments coming in, leading to the superb interval block. The second half also starts well with a fun flashback episode that is both emotional and massy, which is enjoyable. But after that, the film moves into a new territory which does not gel so well with the rest of it. Wonder why Vinoth had to choose such a direction for the film, but it's Vijay and Anirudh who do the majority of the heavy lifting and make it worthy of the ticket price.

The film is at its best when it's seen as a farewell celebration for Vijay rather than a standalone outing. In terms of the mass moments, it truly delivers many 🔥 Fitting the tag of ONE LAST TIME, give this one a watch in theatres to enjoy the glory of the man who has entertained us for years. The end credits 🥲
