On this day, the evening of February 2nd, 1416, 610 years ago, Lord Racek Kobyla of Dvorce, accompanied by 12 companions, were staying at an inn in Kuttenberg (probably Emperor Charles one), in the Kingdom of Bohemia, when they were killed by an angry mob of miners, incited by anti-Hussite priests. I have been able to identify only one of them, named Herman.
There was only one survivor of this attack: Lord Bořita of Ostředek, who had come with Racek Kobyla to negotiate with the city's consuls or collect taxes on behalf of the king. He survived by hiding in a latrine. Managing to escape, the king was immediately informed and demanded punishment for the town. The Kuttenberg town council apologized by offering him gifts of money and executing two miners, presented as responsible, to "purge" the community's guilt.
Kobyla's estates were passed on to his widow, Anna of Úlibic, and his children were placed under the guardianship of knights.
This artwork was prepared for a month with the artist @AleksandrG78133 for an artistic and historical project commission aimed at paying tribute to Racek Kobyla and his companions and to this event which has no representation and, as far as I know, no commemorative stele on site in the city.
Racek Kobyla and his 12 companions were never given proper burials. Their bodies were dismembered, cut into small pieces, and scattered throughout the city and even maybe the region, either in mass graves or to the depths of forgotten mines.
The Hussite era was very violent even before the war. Jan Hus, a religious reformer of Christianity, having been condemned to be burned at the stake in 1415, sparked religious violence in Bohemia which escalated into war 4 years later.
"We'll also have somewhere to put Jana and her bastard"
Is ginger Radzig referring to Henry and mom? Is her name Jana? Does it mean Henry didn't always live in Skalitz? And Radzig became the lord of Skalitz so he could move the family there and be near them?
So that's obvious that Henry is the first (and only) choice for them, bc he's the most invested and motivated, he already know everything about the missions. And, most importantly, he wants them. Because these are the things that'll help him find the sword and avenge parents
Henry: signs up volunteerely for the investigation mission project
Radzig in the mid of the project when Henry already made huge progress: now it's time to give it to somebody else
That's what people expect him to do I guess
Idk I'd be pissed
Btw I can speculate a lot about all this dangerous missions stuff. First of all, these missions were in Henry's personal interest - leads to find Runt, find the sword, to avenge parents, etc. All this Radzig criticism sounds hypocritical to me as Henry would do it all anyway
All the missions (which I can't even call Radzig's missions bc they're in Henrys personal interest and not just Radzig's whims), starting from Neuhof investigation (which Henry VOLUNTEERED to) and up to Vranik, are connected and consecutive
@Xdrawrrrr Wow I thought I was the only one who was absolutely pissed off by this, THANK YOU! I played this part when I myself had an injured shoulder and I could physically feel Henry's pain. Totally abusive behavior from Hans, a huge red flag for me
