सीपीआईएम उत्तर प्रदेश ने प्रदेश में मर्जर करने के नाम पर 5000 से अधिक प्राथमिक विद्यालयों को बंद करने के ख़िलाफ़ प्रदेश व्यापी विरोध प्रदर्शन का आह्वान किय�� जिसके तहत प्रदेश के ज़िला प्रदर्शन मुख्यालयों पर प्रदर्शन किया गयाI इस अवसर पर प्राथमिक विद्यालयों को बंद करने के विरोध में मुख्यमंत्री को संबोधित ज्ञापन प्रशासन को दिया गया। लखनऊ के प्रदर्शन में सीपीआईएम उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य सचिव रविशंकर मिश्रा शामिल हुए।

वरिष्ठ कम्युनिस्ट नेता और केरल के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री कामरेड वी. एस. अच्युतानंदन का 21 ज��लाई को 101 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया। उनका संघर्षपूर्ण जीवन और जनहित के प्रति अटूट समर्पण सदैव प्रेरणादायी रहेगा।
