@SamaHoole My Norwegian mom didn’t grow up in Norway, but on a bee farm, with stock. Her brother was 6’3, she topped out at 5’9”. She always created her longevity to growing up on the farm - raw honey, milk “straight from the cow!”, fresh chicken and beef, and being outside all day.
@nancytsidley Here in the States, people often say, “Sorry! I’m a hugger!” And then they proceed to hug you. You really have no say in the matter. No chance to say, “Sorry! I’m not!”
@giveashitnature I had to look it up as we have a lot of lichen here in the PNW and I would have thought that’s what it is. I know now it’s not lichen, although it looks similar to a beard lichen. Thanks for encouraging my education. Is it also a sign of healthy air like lichen is?
@SamaHoole Excellent post about a marvelous individual and the realities of farming. My mom grew up on a bee farm (and some stock) and credited her longevity to it. Lived hearty and sassy to 95.
@johnfielding001 Loved the text - thanks so much. I also like the lonely red truck in the field. I’m off to Google more of this place! You always fire up my imagination.
@caenhillcc Long may the toast wave! I sure love starting my day (a bit later than you as I’m on the opposite side of the planet) with you and your friends.
