The rioters set an Irish man's house on fire.
"I told them before they lit the fire. This is my house here. I'm sure they didn't care anyway. I thought I was one of their own... I understand that they're all angry, but I've just lost a home."
This is Rebecca Goodwin
She was raped. She reported it. She even handed in a 7 minute recording of her sexual assault. Police said it was insufficient evidence.
Fearing he would target others, she exposed the man publicly. Out of fear, he handed himself in and was remanded.
But on appeal, he was released. He is now bailed until a court date in 2027.
Rebecca has been failed. Women across this country are failed daily. We ask why women don’t report? This is why.
Violence against women is a pandemic, nationally and locally. #EndDomesticAbuse
This is a sign from Kent Police on Non-Emergency enquiries.
WTF 🤬 they CONSIDER RAPE and SEXUAL ASSAULT Non Emergency’s.
This is ABHORRENT and shows the priorities of our police force and that they couldn’t give a SHIT about You g girls being RAPED maybe they’ve given up.
The victims of this double gang rape case were referred to as 'young women' by Jess Phillips on Today recently.
It's jarring to hear the perpetrators referred to as 'children' or 'boys' when they are the same age as their victims.
Nobody is calling them 'young men'.

This is precisely why so many women & girls don’t report rape. The legal process has often been described as ‘harrowing, & reliving the rape all over again’ These male judges are so out of touch.
Makes me sick. These poor girls are never ever going to forget this horrific attack. But sure can’t be unnecessarily criminalising the sickos that planned and carried it out.
Teenage girls raped at knifepoint whilst filmed.
Judge Nicholas Rowland said: “None of you need to go to prison… I should avoid criminalising these children unnecessarily.”
The justice system’s response was to protect the rapists.
Not the girls.

Imagine being a girl or woman having to battle almost impossible odds to even get your rapist to face trial in court. Discredited by the defence, brutalised by the CJS.
Only for the judge to applaud your rapist for his behaviour in court.
No wonder women dont trust the CJS.
Stop with all this 'he's so young & so unintelligent, sending him to prison for gang rape will mess his life up'.
It fecking should.
What about HER life?
"Look back in courage" the judge tells the girls - including one who had told the court she wanted to die.
No. When these girls look back, they’ll remember the pain. The violence. The terror. The humiliation. The sound of their rapists laughing while their lives were destroyed.
And playing behind it all like a sickening backing track: a judge delivering sympathy and praise to their vile attackers - before watching them walk free out of court.
If there was one thing that could have offered the smallest fraction of "comfort" to these girls - it was justice. And there was none here.
