Delhi: On the India-AI Impact Summit 2026, Sunil Kumar Barnwal IAS, CEO, National Health Authority (NHA) says, ''The application of AI in the health sector is very useful because AI will increase the capacity of health professionals like doctors, nurses, paramedics multiple times.''
AI can strengthen healthcare by boosting the capacity of health professionals and improving clinical efficiency. It must be trained on Indian datasets and properly benchmarked for effectiveness, said Dr. @Sunil_Barnwal, CEO, NHA, in an exclusive conversation with @ians_india.

The 4th Joint Working Group (JWG) Meeting between India and the United Kingdom was held in London on 21–22 January, marking an important milestone in advancing bilateral health cooperation.
Dr. Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi represented the Ministry in the meeting, which focused on taking forward priority areas of collaboration as outlined in the MoU on Health Cooperation.
Both sides welcomed the renewal of the MoU in January last year, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening the India–UK health partnership.
Key agenda items discussed included Supply Chain Resilience, Digital Health, International Health Workforce, and Antimicrobial Resistance, reflecting a shared vision for resilient, innovative and sustainable health systems.
