Some observations about the "total" automation of software engineering:
1. There are more software engineers now than in 2025, and demand is growing.
2. Software engineers have never worked harder than they do now.
3. They largely don't write code anymore, agents write ~100% of the code.
4. The bottom line of the companies that employs these engineers and agents (i.e. the terminal purpose of all this code) is typically not budging as a result of AI adoption.
This is why you have to think in terms of systems. Automating one aspect of a system creates its own friction and moves the bottlenecks elsewhere.
I recently spoke to MSc CS & Maths students at @auvcochennai about how AI agents are changing software engineering and why coding may no longer be the scarce skill.
I have shared the seminar slides, references & resources here: https://t.co/umg3hjkb7c

After more than 2 months of being sent between the distributor, Field Officer, and @IndianOilcl support to get KYC issue resolved, @MoPNG_eSeva asked me to share my details. I provided everything requested within minutes.
The outcome? The ticket was closed the very next day with the remark: "As there has been no response, this ticket is being closed from our end." Interesting, as the screenshot below clearly shows that the requested details were shared promptly. Is "ticket closed" now considered a solution or responsiveness reserved for people with political influence / bureaucratic access / "connections"?
Kindly, someone at @MoPNG_eSeva or @IndianOilcl help resolve this issue. For your convenience - I have shared the details once again today via DM to @MoPNG_eSeva.
Hello @IndianOilcl,
I have had a perfectly functional Indane gas connection for over 7 years (same consumer id) and one fine morning my KYC was suddenly blocked. As instructed, I visited my distributor (more than 6 times now), but in vain. The distributor cites a backend issue, saying another consumer id is linked to my Aadhaar and that only IOC/the Field Officer can fix it.
The Field Officer has never responded to my calls or WhatsApp messages. My emails to [email protected] and a concerned officer have remained unanswered, and every service request raised on https://t.co/6QPgz7fOKc simply directs me back to the distributor. Nobody seems willing to take ownership.
This endless runaround has been going on for over two months, and it's becoming increasingly difficult to manage my household without a functional LPG connection.
Can someone at Indian Oil please look into this and help resolve it instead of sending me in circles? I would genuinely appreciate a response, more importantly, a solution.
As per your response to a service request on https://t.co/xxWjkwIFCs, I visited the distributor (again) and followed up a few times, still no resolution. The issue remains same - somebody else's consumer id is linked to my aadhar (an Indane's own doing) and distributor is not able to make changes. The field officer is supposed to resolve the issue (as per distributor) but no response from him on my emails/calls. I need a gas refill urgently..
Mr @HardeepSPuri, its been more than 3 months and none of the concerned teams/individuals in PNG dept. has been able to resolve a simple KYC issue. Note, I have had this connection for more than 7 years and one fine morning Indane decides to block my KYC, and now even after multiple visits to the distributor, providing all required documents, multiple service requests (all closed without resolution), emails to concerned officers at IndianOil (with zero responses), the issue remains unresolved. How do you suggest, I run my household without a running Kitchen?

That’s the direction —ui’s are no longer the primary interface, nor a moat. Imo, a mcp-style tool-manifest layer on top of api’s will be of further help. For an agent-first / agent-also saas, a tool-manifest layer (in addition to api’s or even webmcp) feels like a more standardised contract between autonomous reasoning systems (agents) and business softwares(including saas). It appears more durable than webmcp in long run because it’s backend-native and not browser-dependent. Also, why make an agent read/infer from api docs when you can expose a structured tool manifest — a list of callable business actions with typed schemas, auth scopes and semantic descriptions? That shifts the product from “human-programmable” to “agent-operable”..
It always made me think, why have such a big/heavy library in my project, when I only need a piece of it. This is indeed a novel way to look at other libraries - go learn how they implemented something, reimplement just that piece to suit your immediate need and get going. Risks apart, it indeed makes libraries as a source of knowledge (inspiration) apart from code (as its always been)..
