This is part of why ppl pretend that the word "cis" is a slur. They only want cis men to be men and cis women to be women. Everyone else has to use "trans" or be misgendered.

If it were simply about making a distinction, then they would reference cis women as cis just as they insist on referring to trans women as trans women. But it's like how white Americans are American, while everyone else must hyphenate.
