Be under no illusion. There is no standing army of police. There are no extra police that have been hiding in boxes. This will be the same police that are exhausted, having rest days canceled, missing from their own communities. This crisis has shown that we need to appreciate and fund our police properly.

Today, for the first time, I’m embarrassed to be from Yorkshire…violent disorder is not the way. If you have a criticism or complaint, protest peacefully, anything else is just criminal

Did I just hear the news right…prisoners will no be released after 40% of their sentence!! Why not just sentence them to that and be honest with the public

I know it’s become acceptable to bash the police, I get it, it sells papers, is easy news and lord knows we don’t help ourselves most of the time. But here’s the thing…

So, when you next right a piece to complain about poor sentencing or lack of response to shed breaks, burglaries and anything but life at risk jobs…please, please consider that the ones you criticise are the ones that are doing their best, accepting that should it go wrong….
