Um novo áudio divulgado pela VEJA, nesta quinta-feira, 15 de outubro, acrescenta um capítulo inquietante ao caso Banco Master. Natália Vorcaro Zettel, irmã de Daniel Vorcaro, relata seu estado emocional na Papudinha, em Brasília, e o medo de retornar à penitenciária federal de segurança máxima.

“Ele está em pânico”, disse Natália. Segundo ela, Vorcaro teria sofrido tortura durante os treze dias em que permaneceu na unidade, sem água, comida ou contato externo, sob iluminação permanente. São acusações graves, que exigem esclarecimentos.

A irmã também relata que Vorcaro ficou abalado após a divulgação dos áudios em que acusa interlocutores políticos de negociar pagamentos ilícitos, incluindo R$ 30 milhões para um documentário sobre Lula e recursos destinados ao Instituto Lula. Segundo Natália, ela tentou tranquilizá-lo: “Você não falou nada mais do que a verdade”.

Vorcaro estaria preparando uma terceira proposta de colaboração premiada, após tentativas rejeitadas pela PGR. A Procuradoria de Gonet afirma que não recebeu depoimento formal nem documentos que comprovem os pagamentos denunciados. As acusações continuam contestadas e sem comprovação conclusiva.

Agora, segundo a irmã, Daniel Vorcaro teme novas represálias e cogita adiar revelações até depois das eleições.

Estamos diante de um investigado que afirma ter informações sobre figuras poderosas da República, enquanto as autoridades rejeitam suas propostas de colaboração. Rejeitar uma delação pode ter fundamento legal, o que não se admite é deixar dúvidas sobre os critérios utilizados e a apuração das informações oferecidas.

Vorcaro prestou depoimento à Polícia Federal nesta quinta-feira, durante aproximadamente três horas, sobre as operações entre o Banco Master e o BRB. Mas há uma contradição que exige explicações: quando o assunto são as operações bancárias que atingem diretamente Vorcaro, ele é ouvido. Quando oferece informações sobre supostos pagamentos de propinas e o envolvimento de figuras poderosas da República, suas propostas de colaboração são rejeitadas pela PGR.

O temor da irmã de Vorcaro ganha ainda mais relevância diante de uma atuação institucional cada vez mais questionável.

A 5-year-old girl plunged 49 feet from a moving cruise ship into the open ocean. Her father heard his wife screaming and raced toward the railing, only to discover that their daughter was gone.

It happened aboard the Disney Dream near the Bahamas, where a family vacation took a terrifying turn when the little girl fell from the ship’s fourth deck.

When her father realized what had happened, he jumped overboard after her, plunging nearly 50 feet into the ocean. But when he surfaced, he couldn’t see his daughter anywhere.

He began desperately calling out for her, searching the water until he finally heard her calling back. He swam toward her and managed to reach her, but they were still stranded in the open ocean as the massive cruise ship began turning around.

For roughly 20 minutes, he kept his little girl afloat, holding her above the water until a rescue boat finally reached them and brought them back to safety.

Both survived, although the father suffered two fractures in his spine from the fall.

It takes an incredible amount of courage to jump nearly 50 feet into the open ocean, not knowing what awaits you below. But this father didn’t hesitate to put his own life on the line for his little girl. Thank God they both made it home.

In 1938, Brazil started banning the German language in Blumenau.

Today that same city throws the biggest German festival in the Americas.

German settlers founded Blumenau in 1850, in Santa Catarina, in the south of Brazil.

For generations, families there spoke German at home, at school and in their newspapers.

Then President Getúlio Vargas launched a campaign to make everyone in Brazil speak only Portuguese.

German schools were closed, German newspapers stopped printing, and families were banned from speaking the language, even at home.

Many parents stopped teaching their children the language their grandparents brought across the ocean.

In the 1970s, city leaders started planning a festival to bring that heritage back into the open.

Then the Itajaí-Açu River flooded the city four times in 1983.

On August 7th, 1984, the river rose to 15.46 meters, more than 50 feet.

Many people think the festival was invented to cheer the city up after the floods, but the plan was already on the table.

Two months after that flood, on October 5th, 1984, the first Oktoberfest opened anyway, and 102,000 people walked in.

By 1988, more than 1 million people came in a single year.

Last year, 689,201 people came, and the festival handed the city a record R$12 million profit.

This year's edition runs October 7th to 25th, with a parade tomorrow morning for the October 12th holiday.

Brazil once tried to silence German in Blumenau, and the city answered by turning it into the party that fills its streets every October.
