Today I snapped at a kid…twice. Later I found him to talk.He understood why I snapped the 1st time, but not the 2nd. He said he was paying attn…we chatted…i believed him. I was wrong. So I apologized.

During today’s chalk talk, Mrs. Howard’s second graders got to choose a strategy they felt was reliable to be problem solvers! They checked their own work and the work of a friend in another group to ensure everyone’s thinking was reasonable!

@mchurch_thinks @RonRitchhart The concept of work versus learning spoke to me immediately. It helped me frame and reflect on something I always felt in my classroom. Our classroom's best days were when we were collectively focused on the learning, rather than completing the work.
