"Those who have read about everything are thought also to understand everything; but it is not always so.
Reading provides the mind only with materials of knowledge; thinking makes what we read ours.
It is not enough to cram ourselves with a great load of literary collections; unless we chew them over again–like a cow chewing its cud–they won't give us strength and nourishment."
–John Locke
“To you I lift up my eyes,
O you who are enthroned in the heavens!
Behold, as the eyes of servants
look to the hand of their master,
as the eyes of a maidservant
to the hand of her mistress,
so our eyes look to the Lord our God,
till he has mercy upon us.
Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us,
for we have had more than enough of contempt.
Our soul has had more than enough
of the scorn of those who are at ease,
of the contempt of the proud.”
—Psalm 123:1–4, ESV
Your question about other prohibitions is interesting because it seems there aren’t any limits. I agree there shouldn’t be any restrictions. God calls who he wants, and I am of the stance to be there to support and help them in anyway I can. I don’t want to be a barrier to anyone’s calling.
@ferrismattic I quit playing monopoly because I was unkind. Oh, and never buy hotels because if the supply of houses are taken no one else can build. 🤷🏻♂️
