Columbus Day is a celebration of Italian-American Heritage!

Today and all month-long, we celebrate the extraordinary contributions Italian Americans have made to Long Branch, to Monmouth County, and to our entire state. Generations of Italian immigrants came to New Jersey with little more than determination and a dream. They built businesses, raised families, served in our armed forces, and helped shape the communities we call home. Their values of faith, family, hard work, and service continue to strengthen New Jersey today. President Benjamin Harrison in 1892 called for this holiday in response to a mass lynching of 11 Italian Americans in New Orleans the year prior.

New Jersey is home to one of the largest Italian American communities in the nation, and Long Branch’s rich heritage is a big part of that story. As the son of immigrants myself, I know how much it means to see a community’s history and culture honored with pride.

I look forward to serving as Grand Marshal of the 2026 Long Branch Columbus Day Parade this upcoming Sunday. Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, and families who make this tradition possible year after year. I am looking forward to celebrating Italian culture and heritage with our Italian-American Community and friends.

Today, my friend and a legend in the New Jersey Senate passed away. For 16 years, Sandra Cunningham championed her constituents in Jersey City and Bayonne. She fought for those less fortunate - following in the footsteps of her late husband, Jersey City Mayor and Senator Glenn Cunningham who passed away in 2004. She ran the Sandra and Glenn Cunningham Foundation for many years help many families in need in the greater Jersey City area.

Here is a photo of Senator Cunningham campaigning for me in Long Branch during my first election as a challenger back in 2017.

Rest in Peace Senator - thank you for your courage, grace and kindness you showed to so many

Looking forward to joining @joekyrillos, @PatrickFLeahy, @monmouthu, @pauldement for this important conversation!

[Senator Joe Kyrillos @joekyrillos]

Coming up next week—Looking forward to moderating this panel at @monmouthu with @vingopal as part of our “Leadership, Civility, and Common Ground in Politics and Public Service” conversation series.

To my friends and neighbors celebrating Rosh Hashanah,

Shanah Tovah! As the shofar sounds and we welcome 5787, I want to wish the Jewish community across the 11th District — and all of Monmouth County, a sweet and meaningful New Year.

I'm grateful for the vibrant Jewish community that calls our district home, and for all the ways you strengthen our towns...through your synagogues, schools, small businesses, and countless acts of service. Thank you for the traditions you keep alive and the values you pass on.

May this new year bring good health, peace, and prosperity to you and your loved ones

We partnered with the The City of Long Branch, NJ for our Annual 9/11 Service. Hundreds of local residents, area Mayors and elected officials from Ocean Township, Eatontown, Tinton Falls, Deal, Allenhurst, Loch Arbour, Monmouth Beach, Sea Bright and West Long Branch came out to pay their respects to those who were killed 25 years ago.

We honor the victims, their families, and the survivors who carry that day with them still. We remember the firefighters, police officers, and EMTs who gave everything. We remember the passengers of Flight 93, whose courage prevented an even greater tragedy. And we recommit ourselves to the unity and resilience that defined the days that followed, a spirit of neighbor helping neighbor that this country, and this state, showed the world.

To every Monmouth County family who lost someone that day: we carry your loss with you. We will never forget.

Happy Labor Day! Today, we honor the workers who keep our communities moving. Thanks to legislation sponsored by Senators @SenGreenstein, @vingopal, and Moriarty, students in grades 6–12 are now taught about the history of the labor movement and how it helped shape New Jersey.

It is an honor to be named this year's Grand Marshal of Long Branch's historic Columbus Day Parade. The Italian-American community in Long Branch has a rich history, and this parade plays a vital role in celebrating and preserving that heritage. As part of my continued commitment to Italian-American families here, I will be raising $10,000 to support heritage scholarships and youth programs throughout Monmouth County.

Look forward to seeing everyone at the parade!

Great article on @RobMenendez4NJ - His office has outstanding constituent services - I have seen his deep, personal engagement on case files personally, many times.

Wait, guys... I'm beginning to think the windmill opposition in New Jersey mostly wasn't driven by a grassroots movement truly concerned about whale deaths.

Losing the Hambletonian after 46 years at Meadowlands Racetrack is quite disappointing and begs the need for a discussion on how we collectively can protect our racing industry and precious horse farms.

This isn't about Democrats or Republicans. Its about stopping corporations from taking over healthcare. Thank you to my friend @DSteinhardtEsq for partnering with me on this important issue.

My fourth piece on PBM reform, this time with Senator @vingopal - NJ can finish the job.

Real reform means lower costs, more transparency, greater accountability, & putting patients,
not middlemen, first.
