It has now become clear that the Nihangs occupying the Gurdwara in Uttarakhand is not a mere "internal Sikh issue."
The Nihangs have taken over the Gurdwara purely as a pressure tactic against the Uttarakhand government. Their demands include the release of other arrested nihangs (viral nihangs) and permission to carry out open mischief, along with several other unreasonable demands.
This occupation is being used for political blackmail and to demand impunity.
@HMOIndia
Italy is also a democracy like India. Millions don't like and didn't vote PM Meloni in Italy.
Yet, when Trump recently made a silly remark about Meloni "begging to take pics with him", the whole country, including opposition, have stood behind her.
Nobody is mocking her using Trump's comments. Nobody is saying she has made Italy look weak. None in Italy is taking the side of Trump mocking their PM for some silly political gratification.
Uttarakhand: A clash broke out in Karnaprayag between Nihang pilgrims returning from Hemkund Sahib and local hotel staff over a parking dispute as swords drawn out, leaving at least four injured.
Angry residents briefly blocked the Badrinath Highway, while police detained those involved and launched an investigation into the incident.

Hindutva mob protests with pigs outside a society against Muslims for having goats inside the society for Bakrid

Oh god. The babus return.
They're pouring concrete on soil without leveling it. And just concrete, no steel bars. No foundation.
Just when you assume they know what they're doing, they give you a surprise.
Implies that delimitation threat played badly in Tamil Nadu. It will in Punjab too. Moral: states prefer an independent regional party, provided it has leadership they can relate to.
Major religions like Hinduism—the world’s third-largest faith—are excluded from human-rights discourse, international bodies and religious-freedom monitoring organizations. This asymmetry needs to be addressed, writes @avatans

The number of people without electricity by country.
Look what happened after 2016. Someone started fixing India for real. Many things at a time. Still some way to go. The lag of last 60 is that bad.
British journalists tracked down the person behind a viral Islamophobia and anti-Black Facebook account (Britain Today), used by racists and far right extremists. It's a Pakistani man based in Pakistan.
Fully agree with @KanwalSibal. We have the misfortune that sections of our society which neither wants to understand what Pakistan wants from India nor wants to learn from experience that whenever in difficulty Pakistan begins to prod our stargazers to talk of dialogue and peace. Pakistan will not change its mindset and policy. The Field Marshall reminded us of this. Islamic and jihadis he said. Our current policy of ignoring Pakistan and otherwise dealing with transgressions is doing well and we should carry on the same way.
Why does a political party so ruthlessly competent in political management doesnt manage the same insanely-outlier outcomes in economic-development terms?
