When Jeff Probst took over as #Survivor showrunner in 2010, the “very first thing” he did was lobby CBS to overhaul one of its major rules about filming on location:
“If you want the show to last, you have to lift the ban on letting families visit. Because I can tell you, I’m not gonna keep coming. No one will,” Probst told executives. “At some point, when it becomes your life to go to these islands, you want to be able to bring your kids or your significant other.”
