He was a big, strong dude, massive hands, built like a beast. This man would throw two inning sim game, then sprint straight to the bullpen and fire off another 100 pitches. After that? Abdominal workouts, then more running. The kind of work ethic most people only see on a farm except he was jacked, fit, and strong.

He pitched till he was 43 and walked away with seven Cy Youngs. Straight animal. I loved that dude because he played with real intensity. He’d get pissed on the mound, turn red, start rocking back and forth grinding his teeth.
