🔺Iran repeatedly came close to resuming confrontation during efforts to secure a Lebanon ceasefire, with missile launch platforms prepared and ready on multiple occasions, a senior Iranian military source told Al Mayadeen.
The source said Iran halted launch operations each time in response to diplomatic promises about a Lebanon ceasefire — promises that were subsequently broken by Israel.
“The enemy, as usual, broke its commitments and continued its aggression against Lebanon,” the source said, adding that Iran ultimately issued a “decisive final deadline” Thursday night.
According to the source, it was “the enemy’s realization of the seriousness and inevitability of Iranian operations,” combined with Hezbollah’s resistance on the ground, that forced the ceasefire in Lebanon.
Trump announced Thursday that a 10-day Lebanon ceasefire would begin at 5:00 PM Eastern, midnight Beirut time. Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf told Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri in a phone call Thursday that Iran “will never forget our Lebanese brothers, as we see them as our own.”
President Trump said the war in Iran should end soon, as the conflict that began with a US-Israeli attack had killed thousands and sent oil prices surging to historic highs https://t.co/swCnaqvH5t
Hello! Here’s what matters right now:
1️⃣ The US is delaying weapons deliveries to Europe due to the war with Iran — Reuters. Contracts with the Baltics and Scandinavia are affected. The reason is depleted arsenals after Ukraine, Gaza, and Iran. It’s still unclear what this means for Kyiv.
2️⃣ Russia is moving 20,000 troops to eastern Ukraine to seize the entire Donetsk region by September — Financial Times citing Ukrainian intelligence. A new offensive in the southeast is being prepared.
3️⃣ The Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant has lost external power again. This is the second blackout in a week and the 14th since the full-scale war began. Power was restored after 40 minutes, but the IAEA warns nuclear safety remains unstable.
4️⃣ A 10-day ceasefire has come into force in Lebanon.
5️⃣ Israel hit by rockets (video): the city of Karmiel was attacked, one person is seriously injured. The strike may have come from Lebanon. At the same time, Sabereen News reports an attack on the city of Nahariya.
6️⃣ Drones attacked Russia’s Leningrad region: five planes can’t land at Pulkovo airport, around 20 flights delayed or canceled.
BREAKING: President Trump vows to look into the 10 scientists who have gone missing or turned up dead:
"I hope it's random, but we're going to know in the next week and a half."
"I just left a meeting on that subject."
"Pretty serious stuff... Some of them were very important people, and we're going to look at it over the next short period."

The U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels and U.S. Air Force’s Thunderbirds, two of the nation’s most elite flight teams, united Tuesday to perform an extremely rare formation flyover in “Super Delta” over Pensacola Beach, Florida.
We still talk about the British conquering India, but that phrase disguises a much more sinister reality. For it was not the British government that began seizing chunks of India in the mid-eighteenth century, but a dangerously unregulated private company headquartered in one small office, five windows wide, in the city of London. Bringing together decades of meticulous research and masterful narration, William will tell us the remarkable story of how the Mughal empire, which then generated just under half the world's wealth, disintegrated and came to be replaced by the East India Company—an aggressive colonial power in the guise of a multinational corporation.
Do not miss the remarkable story of India and empire as it has never been told before, unfolding a timely cautionary tale of the first global corporate power.

Saudi Arabia is urging the United States to stop the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and return to negotiations with Iran.
Riyadh fears that Iran could pressure the Houthis in Yemen to block another key route — the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
This strait is critical for oil exports. If both routes are blocked, the impact would hit the entire market — and Saudi Arabia itself first.
Zelensky presents Ukraine’s robot soldiers to the world:
“For the first time in the war, an enemy position was captured entirely by ground robotic systems and drones. No infantry. A robot entered the most dangerous area instead of a soldier & captured it”
Fox News: The U.S. naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is costing Iran $400 million a day, $13 billion a month. Iran can only store oil for about two weeks before it starts shutting off wells.
