[Pink Floyd @pinkfloyd]

On this day in 1970, Pink Floyd's first album to get to the coveted number one spot in the album charts, was released. Atom Heart Mother featured a very unusual cover, with Lulubelle III provoking record company executives to ask "Why a cow?". The late Storm Thorgerson much later recreated the cover using a metal frame of a bovine (or, "wire cow" to recall the original question!).

For lo, He hath great power, and great hunger
When cometh the day we lowly ones
Through quiet reflection, and great dedication
Master the art of karate
Lo, we shall rise up
And then we'll make the bugger's eyes water
