i truly believe that crying over a book is one of the strongest indicators of empathy for mankind. you are mourning for a character who does not actually exist, yet you still care for them as though you have known them for your whole life.
Pain leaves fingerprints. You are not required to return to the place where your spirit learned fear. You are not obligated to reopen doors just because someone knocked again differently.
Your first attempt might not be very good, but nobody's early work is good. There will always be a gap between where you are and where you want to be. And the bridge between that gap is courage. The courage to look foolish in the beginning. The courage to show up again when your early work is criticized. The courage to look yourself in the mirror and say, "I realize I'm not good enough yet, but the only way to get better is to keep working on it."

Rebuilding yourself isn’t creating someone new, it’s building new evidence. Events behind you can explain parts of your journey but they don’t define the meaning of your future.❤️
