Hurkacz spoke about the injury he suffered at Wimbledon 2 years ago after beating Tommy Paul
“A couple years ago you were ranked world #6. You had knee surgery last June. You fell out of the top 100 earlier this year. Can you talk me through what it’s been like to get back to the top?”
Hubi: “It was exactly two years ago on this court, 2nd round. I fell, getting up I ripped my meniscus. It was not fun. Since then it was kind of a struggle. I’ve had two surgeries. We’ve been putting a lot of work. Maybe the results weren’t showing it but just super happy to be able to get through to the 4th round here at Wimbledon. It’s such a unique place. I have really amazing memories from it. We’ll try to continue and play some good tennis.”
“You’ve made peace with the court now?”
Hubi: “Yes, yes.”
*Hubi kneels down to pat the grass*
Hubi: “Now we’re good” 😂
