That's a spectacular display indeed and it's also a great example that shows the contrast between the governance mindset between Congress and BJP.

For context, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad was fully demolished and rebuilt from scratch (from old Motera Stadium) in 2020 at a cost of just ₹800 crore, creating the world's largest cricket venue with 132,000 capacity. In contrast, during the Congress-led 2010 CWG, the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi was billed for a "full reconstruction" at ₹961 crore, but corruption scandals meant only superficial upgrades like a new canopy roof, floodlights, seats, and turf—while retaining the old structure built decades ago in 1982. Now, just 15 years later, it's so dated and dire conditions, that it needs complete demolition and redevelopment. Efficient governance vs. wasted funds— progress speaks for itself..
