@jacknoffman@notmyusernamed@cardamomkiss Plus, how much the rich do for Easter is a bit more inconsistent since part of it depends on where they live. Like rich people in AZ, the Bay Area, Nevada, and Miami barely care about Easter in comparison to rich people in Atlanta, the DC suburbs, and Dallas.
@jacknoffman@notmyusernamed@cardamomkiss true but Christmas gives the rich to show their wealth in more unique and impressive ways (regardless of their demographics). Easter is more limiting depending on your Christian denomination since it comes with more rules based on how your denomination celebrates it.
@jacknoffman@notmyusernamed@cardamomkiss Plus in the Northeastern, Catholic demographic it's viewed as a little tacky to have too many decorations for Easter and it's only certain kinds of decorations are acceptable when decorating for Easter^^
@jacknoffman@notmyusernamed@cardamomkiss Like if you're rich and Catholic from the Northeast, you probably won't have as many Easter decorations in comparison to a rich Methodist in the bible belt, since you focus more on the religious aspect of it
@jacknoffman@notmyusernamed@cardamomkiss don’t get me wrong upper class people that aren’t Christian aren’t going all out like upper class Christians do, but they def do more stuff for Christmas than they do for other non-religious holidays (like Valentine’s Day or Memorial Day)
@jacknoffman@notmyusernamed@cardamomkiss Christmas is the upper class holiday for everyone (it’s heavily integrated into American culture + has become super commercialized these past couple of decades) so practically everyone in America celebrates it in some way, regardless of religion
@notmyusernamed@cardamomkiss I mean, Halloween is kinda popular amongst upper middle class millennials (specifically those in the $100,000 to $180,000 range). I will agree that upper middle class to super rich boomers and Gen X’rs keep it very lowkey for Halloween.
