the “welcome home stranger,” scene is still on my mind. telemachus is realizing his father is right in front him after so long and the way tom’s eyes showed every emotion in that scene.
it feels like every odyssey adaptation makes circe appear pointless bc they constantly write out the fact she was the one who warned odysseus about :
- the sirens
- scylla
- charybids
- the cattle of helios
had it not been for her he would've died to all that
the first two thirds of The Odyssey had me kinda going “I mean this is really good but it’s just…pretty much The Odyssey!” and then the third act hit and I was levitating into the ceiling and ready to watch again ASAP
