@Sunblister16 One important thing to note is that Ash in XY has a "flat character arc": not in the sense that he is a flat character, but rather the arc is focused on reaffirming his core values after they're shaken, and how those values influence others as well.
@MezaMunn The one excuse for Mudkip is that AG was infamously a weird time with no regular head writer until around BF, which is why before then things are very ‘a bunch of stuff that happens’. Not bad, but it is pretty much the definition of regular journey without oomph to stand out.
@MezaMunn Trying to turn this into the latest attempt to go 'see? Your section of fandom is awful!' is kind of aggravating when they were afraid rabid Ash fans would commit arson in the exact same conversation.
@MezaMunn My read is that early on Diantha was not going all out since her objective was less to win and more to test Greninja, which meant by the time she got serious she was in a rougher spot than she would've been in a proper fight. Still impressive for Greninja, but puts it in context.
fear of communication is trauma based. you either feel like your voice doesn’t matter, you think expressing how you feel is going to bring negative consequences or you’re used to being silenced and invalidated
@MezaMunn@thetreyceratops I don’t personally expect them to stop singing since it is the Fuecoco line’s main thematic element and all the singing is likely paving the way for Torch Song eventually, but I would imagine this arc would still address the feeling that the song is a crutch for them at least.
@MezaMunn The thing I love of this attempted gotcha is how just knowing you even the slightest amount would easily disprove it.
But of course, we must make morality judgements on character preferences.
Rest in Peace Rachael Lillis. Thank you for voicing my childhood and being the voice of my all time favorite character
There's a link in the thread of the qrt where you can donate! Funds are going to her medical bills and memorial service. Donate/share the link if you can!
embarrassed to say that few things infuriate me more on this site than bitchy teenage stan accounts who wrap themselves in progressive causes for social justice etc *purely* because it offers a moral beating stick to wield against people they disagree with over fucking tv shows
@MezaMunn Deffo recommending My Adventures with Superman if you haven’t checked it out already, very fun Animesque romp that does a good job honing in what’s nice of his character.
