I was 10 minutes from the #montereypark shooting when it happened and one of the issues that most disturbs me today is the #mentalhealth crisis our community will face. MP is a predominantly Chinese immigrant and Chinese American community. Important things to note... (1/7)
Not to mention this is a population still reeling from the violent (physical and mental) racism they endured during COVID. While this is just one nuance in the larger conversation around the Monterey Park mass shooting, it is one that is deeply real for this community. (5/7)
Even more, mass shooting occurred in a dance hall where most people present were 50+ adults. Even from my own personal experience I know that it will be a struggle to truly get older, AAPI adults the type of trauma counseling they will need. (4/7)

1. Asian Americans have a 17.3% overall lifetime rate of psychiatric disorder yet Asian Americans are three times less likely to seek mental health services compared to their White counterparts. (2/7)
Zuck is trying to build something new with VR/XR +Metaverse. I applaud him for it. But I think he’s focusing on the wrong things when it comes to the Metaverse.
Looking at the history of how media has evolved, it makes sense the Metaverse in the cards for our future. (1/9)
