Maslow applies to educators now more than ever. Leaders need to remember that when they’re talking about culture, mission, and all that stuff at the top of the pyramid... they have staff members & students who are worried about safety, security, and all that stuff at the bottom.
You don’t have to be an administrator, grade level chair, or department head to be a leader in you school. Your title doesn’t matter. You just need to care about making it better.
Passion and commitment can transform any culture.
Admin, it may be extra work, but check on your staff individually. Group check-ins are good, but the ones really struggling may not want to speak up in a group setting. Teachers, also check on each other, especially if you know someone is having a tough time. Strength in Team!
Happy Principal Appreciation Day to Mrs. Murrman-Dudley. Thank you for your leadership and all that you do for the teachers, staff, and students at Eastside Elementary. #PrincipalAppreciationDay#principalsday#BeExcellent💛💜🐆
Crazy times like these are a testament to the importance of being resilient. It’s good to remind students that their commitment to push through and push on... will be more important to their future than “intelligence” and “talent.”
You can share hope.
Happy to be at school and help pass out technology so that our students can begin their distance learning adventure next week.I work with a group of dedicated educators who were able to keep their cool through this very unprecedented time we are experiencing! #LearnitLiveitLoveit

I was in a restaurant recently & I noticed a staff member giving fist bumps to all of his colleagues as he passed them.
That’s a little thing, but the little things add up. Don’t underestimate them. And you never know who’s watching. You never know the extent of your impact.
