Mercoledì 14 gennaio, durante la puntata delle 8:00 di Agorà su Rai 3, si è consumato l’ennesimo siparietto che racconta molto più della gaffe in sé ma parla di un modo di fare informazione in cui la propaganda prevale sulla verifica.

Parlando delle proteste in Iran, il conduttore ha cercato di “mostrare” al pubblico un Paese libero, moderno e democratico prima della rivoluzione del 1979, affidandosi a una carrellata di post recuperati su X.

Nello scatto si vede una famiglia sorridente, rilassata, apparentemente “normale”: il tipo di immagine perfetta per sostenere la narrazione di un Paese sereno e occidentale, improvvisamente oscurato poi dall’avvento della Repubblica islamica.

Peccato che quella foto non sia affatto la testimonianza privata di una famiglia iraniana.

Si tratta invece di un fotogramma del film “Quei bravi ragazzi” (“The Goodfellas”), del 1990, e tra i quattro personaggi ritratti c’è Robert De Niro.

A completamento aspettiamo una foto di Al Pacino in chador.
