Jos julkisista varoista elävän eliitin etuoikeudet eivät heikenny edes hieman, kuvitteletteko, että yksityisen sektorin voimavarat riittävät jatkossa haavoittuvassa asemassa olevien tarpeiden rahoittamiseen?
Tunnutte kuvittelevan.
Mihin kadotitte järkenne ja moraalisen rotinne?
🧵A message to all armchair experts who have become captivated by #UAVs (also known as #drones) as the latest shiny object of modern warfare. I hope this message sparks some much-needed debate on the ongoing technological change, while providing a necessary reality check. 1/6
🧵I don't get rattled often, but today I've had enough when I watched online two credentialled American apologists for #Russia's imperialism repeating yet again that we caused the war in Ukraine because we declared in 2008 that we would consider bringing Ukraine into @NATO. 1/10
🧵Amidst the flurry of meetings to craft an agreement to end the war in #Ukraine, with the US, Europeans and Ukrainians trying to agree on a platform they can accept, one thing is missing: Putin is not interested in such a deal. He wants victory. Why is this so hard to grasp? 1/6
🧵Amidst the avalanche of commentary about POTUS’s efforts to broker a peace deal between #Russia and #Ukraine it’s clear: 1. Europeans are in no position to broker an agreement because they have no military resources to enforce it; 2. They are unwilling to take the risk. 1/5
Muutama pointti ketjun muodossa ns. Viestikoekeskus- juttuun.
The @NATO summit at The Hague will be remembered as “another chance.” The worst fears didn’t come true, the 5% of GDP on defense commitment is a good first step, and the final communique is both brief and reasonable. Now let’s see if words can become deeds. Fingers crossed.
Just one thought: For 80 years we and our European @NATO allies did all we could to resist #Russia’s expansionism and its imperial aggression. Why exactly all of a sudden we act as though Russia is now our de facto partner? Have we forgotten history? Am I missing something?
If Washington can't make up for those gaps fast enough, let's bring in the expertise from the Eastern flank of @NATO-analysts from Finland, Poland, the Baltics, etc. Learn from people who've lived next door to Russia, and who have the existential imperative to understand it. 9/10
Again, I don’t really get why it’s portrayed as up to Ukraine to stop this and not Putin who can leave at any time and never should have invaded in the first place.
The Northeastern Corridor, i.e., Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland and the Baltic States should leverage their collective military capabilities and their shared threat perceptions when it comes to Russia to reach out to Washington to shore up @NATO and transatlantic relations. 4/5
