I love the twins and all the small ways mhy shows their diffs and charas, so I wish this major thing was done better. I haven’t seen ppl talk abt it so ig it’s not a big issue… but isn’t the lack of issue bc people don’t think too much about the twins? It’s not a good thing

of need in order to look for their sibling. And maybe the flower was switched later by abyss lumine due to strong guilt later on but we’ll probably never know?
And we might never know the name or origins of the flowers in lumine’s traveler outfit, either :(

wasn’t it said/implied that the abyss sibling only found the traveler right before the scene at the opening? There was no opportunity for aether to give lumine a flower.
As for abyss lumine wearing the flower as affection/remembrance… the abyss sib abandoned khaenriah at a time

In the sumeru interlude I was like “oh aether uses the flower lumine is wearing for remembrance! Lumine’s flower is an inteyvat!
….why is she wearing it? Did aether give it to her while she was sleeping? How sweet.”
And for those with aether traveler I was like “abyss lumine

wears the flower as a memory/reminder of her purpose :(( she’s so dedicated to her goal! She really loves khaenriah!”
But aren’t both cases wrong? With the info we now know, I don’t think either scenario past!me painstakingly came up with to explain the diff is accurate.

Of course maybe genshin wanted to perfect the outfits before releasing or it didn’t cross their mind. Sure. But as a lumine traveler I get so frustrated by the lore inconsistencies caused by their outfits, and it only got worse with the release of the skins

It would have been amazing if all these outfits existed from the start. Imagine the abyss sibling wearing their og outfit in the traveler’s flashbacks. Imagine the game starting w/ matching outfits that show their personalities and their closeness. They’d both have braided hair!

(Btw, the irony that aether og wore less clothing despite being weak to cold and lumine og wearing more clothing despite being weak to heat <- as inferred by their diff voice lines for slimes )

The inteyvat aside, imagine if we had started with both aether and lumine wearing the brown-white outfits. It would’ve shown way more of their personalities from the start!!! Perhaps I’m delusional but it could’ve helped with fandom mischaracterization + shown that they have diff

Second bc it shows how diff the abyss sib is from the traveler’s memories
The casual and lightly clothed aether now has layers upon layers of formal clothing.
The feminine and arts-loving lumine no longer wears those lace or ribbons, and doesn’t even do her hair anymore

personalities in a way that’s much much more obvious than comparing their movesets or hangout arts (which most players won’t go out of their way to do)
+ it makes the abyss sibling far more interesting as well. First bc the change is more clear due to color shift of brown to blue

I’m gonna talk abt travelers’ skins more (1/12)

When lumine’s skin I was rlly hyped bc it confirmed a lot of ideas I had abt lumine’s personality and it gave the twins matching outfits! And bc I love the twins I analyzed it more and it was rlly frustrating

The thing about aether being ‘canon’ traveler lumine is that lumine doesn’t even wear her favored outfit and the fact that my traveler wears an inteyvat has bothered me since the sumeru interlude bc why is she wearing it. Sure maybe aether gifted it , but wb her clothes…?

She doesn’t wear an inteyvat in her ‘skin’ :) so it would’ve been nice if her skin was her og. Also the implications of the abyss sibling and their ‘preferred’ outfit changes dramatically depending on who your traveler is. I’ve had to think so much to try and make sense of it

@luluraemi Mayhaps I’m crazy but also teyvat being on the 4th cycle and there being 4 eggs + eggs as a symbol of birth (esp paired with the description of the last one)
Extra crazy points for shell being protective and when the shell is destroyed.. well, maybe that’s reaching too much ㅎㅎ

Thinking of how tbhk does gender and how gender has informed all of the chara’s personalities and arcs (and nene maybe breaking her ‘role’ of sacrificial maiden to become the hero in kannagi-supernatural-hero trios)
