I love it when lesbians define themselves as gender dissidents. like yeah, that's exactly what we are. straight people don't like it, other queer people don't like it. we don't fit into any box and we don't abide by any rules except our own
@apocalypticberi@octbreyes ive literally seen men who have pop divas as their phone screen, call them their wives, joke ab kissing their female friends, joke ab having sex w their female friends, and never once is their sexuality ever questioned 🙄 but god forbid a lesbian say yum ab a man
people that call themselves “femme” but dont bother to understand queer theory or advocate for butches arent really femme, they just like to play dress up 🙄
@itiswhay@enmiiity when women started wearing pants, it didn't prove men are the epitome of wearing pants 🙄 it proved that clothes don't have a gender, which is what’s happening here. taking a "male" word and making it lesbian proves men don't own masculinity. masculinity is detached from men!!!!
@itiswhay@enmiiity reclaiming a word isnt “appealing” to the patriarchy, it’s subverting it. the patriarchy claims masculinity belongs ONLY to men. taking a word like boy and applying it to a butch lesbian proves that men dont own masculinity and breaks their patriarchal rules
@itiswhay@enmiiity ok so no. a butch’s masculinity is rooted in their lesbianism, they’re not trying to be men. yes male ≠ masculinity bc lesbians have a redefined sense of masculinity and femininity, separate from traditional masculinity and femininity, which is defined through the patriarchy
