@RndmStreetMedic I’ve been a clerk at my hospital for six months and still haven’t had to change my Epic password- computer login? It’s been changed once- parking lot/gate control? I’ve had to change that password three times, and I’m the only clerk that knows how to change them!

@useheadnheart @raghu_venugopal I hope you are doing well now! Almost a year to the day before starting at my local hospital, I was brought there as a trauma patient after a car accident- even patients who get transferred out as traumas get transferred out astonishingly quickly

@raghu_venugopal We’re a very small hospital and don’t have imaging or lab 24/7, it someone needs STAT imaging and can’t wait until the morning, we have a great relationship with The Ottawa Hospital for transfers to the Civic or General ED so the patient can receive imaging ASAP

@raghu_venugopal I work as a clerk at my local hospital and work ER- it still amazes me how quickly we can go from registration to 12 lead to PIA to Code STEMI to transfer, same registration to PIA to Stroke Code to transfer

@raghu_venugopal As someone who has both been a neurosurgery patient at the Ottawa Hospital because of a brain injury and occasionally initiate consults for the ER I’m a clerk at- they are a really amazing group of people and have been some of the best physicians I’ve dealt with

There’s nowhere to see people
Everyone has influenza. No one has primary care.

Please be patient with triage nurses. They are doing an extremely difficult job that is critical to patient safety. Especially when we are so crowded.

It’s truly so bad this year! We had a good two weeks where the hospital was almost bursting at the seams- ER full with flu, majority of med/surg with the flu and surgical patients were having to be off serviced to L&D for admission

Our EDs are still swimming in influenza. It is now making its way through adult and geriatric populations. Its making some pediatric and geriatric patients sick enough to require admission. Literally 100% of my swabs are coming back positive for patients I believe are viral...
