Independent journalists are being widely praised for their coverage of the ongoing protests in Delhi. But what lies behind this carefully cultivated image of independence?

These journalists openly give protesters a platform, take their side during confrontations, and even obstruct police action. Their conduct during protests is there for everyone to see.

I decided to put some of these self-proclaimed independent journalists to the test. Using a fake email ID, I approached several of them with a proposal to create Instagram videos for the SP ahead of the 2027 UP elections.

What happened next? They responded with work samples and quoted their prices for producing political content. I’m sharing screenshots of the email replies I received from each of them as evidence.

This is not just about disagreeing with the Nehru-Gandhi. They are politicians, people can disagree with them on various issues. But the language Sharjeel Imam is using is the same language used before Partition by Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Chaudhry Khaliquzzaman, Allama Iqbal, Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar, Maulana Azad Subhani, Ali brothers, Hasan Nizami, Syed Ahmad Khan and several other Muslim leaders.

“We ruled India. We were kings and Hindus were our slaves.” This arrogance will never go away. Dr. BR Ambedkar had warned about this even before Partition.

Al Jazeera presented a misleading report by combining footage of a cockroach effigy being burnt on Dussehra with footage of PM Modi’s event. The cockroach effigy was burnt in Pitampura, while PM Modi attended a Dussehra event on October 20, 2026, at the DDA Utsav Ground in IP Extension, East Delhi. These were two separate events.

But here’s what happened when I approached her using a fake email ID, offering her a project to create political reels for the SP ahead of the 2027 UP elections.
