Interesting. BJP has made @RahulGandhi a grassroots leader with widespread visibility. Stark visuals and soundbites tell their own story Nehru fought in grassroot protests and even took to the streets to stop communal riots. But Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi felt no such need and their protests were mostly symbolic gestures. The new scions of the Grand Old Party now are in a mode that is a throwback to the 1940s. It is a sign of the times that @INCIndia has to earn every bit of its lost influence, and do through action a popularity lost to the memory of new generations

West Bengal to be renamed "Paschim Banga"?
CM Suvendu Adhikari has backed the proposal to rename the state, saying it โshould be done legallyโ through a bill in the Assembly
โThere is a process for it. Just as West Bengal is called โWest Bengal,โ it should be called โPaschim Bangโโ he said
Can't serve notices.
Can't hold virtual hearings.
Can't give a voter a copy of the order deleting them.
And: "Once the appeal is disposed of... it cannot be restored on the portal if the restoration is needed on account of direction of the judicial order or otherwise."
That's not a complaint from an election official on the ground. It's the minutes of a meeting of retired High Court judges, appointed on the Supreme Court's orders to hear 38 lakh SIR appeals in West Bengal, on the portal the Election Commission's IT division (headed by Seema Khanna) built for them.
Minutes dated August 11, sent to the EC and the Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court.

๐จBIG BREAKING : Indian Express just dropped another HYDROGEN BOMB on CEC Gyanesh Kumar๐ฅ๐ฅ
GYANESH KUMAR'S PORTAL EXPOSED : EVEN JUDGES CAN'T GET IN
The Supreme Court set up more than a dozen tribunals in West Bengal to hear SIR appeals, including from 27 lakh deleted voters.
Now Indian Express reports what those judges complained about.
The Election Commission's own IT portal will not let them serve notices.
They can't upload extra documents from voters, can't hold virtual hearings, and can't restore a deleted voter.
Appellants can't even download the order that tells them why their name was cut.
So the Court says hear the people, and the Commission's software says no.
Bro, imagine your father fights a 6-month case to get his name back.
The judge agrees with him.
Then the judge clicks "restore" and the screen says: option not available.
Your vote dies in a dropdown menu.
Gyanesh Kumar ji, you locked the door and handed the judges a key that doesn't fit.
Modi ji, Shah ji, you keep shielding him while 27 lakh people wait outside.
Open the portal.
Restore the voters. Or resign. ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ

Sowmya Reddy Claims Thousands of Voters Targeted Through Form 7 Applications, Files Police Complaint
Bengaluru
#Karnataka Pradesh Mahila Congress President Sowmya Reddy on Monday lodged a complaint at the Jayanagar Police Station in #Bengaluru, alleging large-scale irregularities in voter deletions in the Jayanagar Assembly constituency (No. 173).
In her complaint, Reddy alleged that 4,327 voters in Ward No. 171 (Gurrapanapalya) had been removed from the electoral roll, while a total of 5,698 #Form7 applications seeking deletion of voters had reportedly been submitted across the constituency.
According to the complaint, the deletions were allegedly carried out at the request of Lokesh, who is stated to be associated with #BJP leader C.K. Ramamurthy. Reddy further alleged that pre-printed Form 7 applications were used to facilitate the deletions.
The complaint also names Yogesh, who is alleged to have worked with C.K. Ramamurthy, accusing him of involvement in irregular voting-related activities.
Sowmya Reddy stated that former corporator Rizwan Nawab and the concerned Booth Level Officers (#BLOs) were present when the alleged irregularities came to light.
She said an inquiry into the matter had already been conducted by Returning Officer (RO) Eshwar Naidu and Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) Rekha. Claiming to possess video and photographic evidence supporting the allegations,Sowmya Reddy urged the police to verify the records, examine the inquiry findings, and take appropriate legal action if any violations are found.
After lodging the complaint,Sowmya Reddy released a video statement elaborating on the allegations. She said the issue surfaced during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (#SIR) process, for which September 28 was the last date."A few people contacted us during the process. That is when we discovered that 4,327 Form 7 applications had been submitted in a single ward. Across the Jayanagar constituency, 5,698 pre-printed Form 7 applications were submitted for voter deletions," she alleged.
Sowmya Reddy further claimed that most of the deleted voters belonged to minority and #Dalit communities and were people who had traditionally supported the #Congress party."We have filed a complaint with video evidence. In the audio clips, the individuals have allegedly admitted that they are from the BJP office and are working as BLA-2. Elections should be free and fair. We urge citizens to remain vigilant and protect their voting rights," she said.
The police are yet to issue an official response to the allegations.

Facts:
While announcing Bihar SIR, ECI added a declaration to Form 6 asking the new voters for their parentsโ date and place of birth and to submit proof of the same.
Subsequently, declaration of Form 6 was further revised introducing mapping to the last SIR instead of seeking proof of citizenship.
SC upheld Bihar SIR on 27.5.2026.
On 16 May 2026 and on 13 Aug 2026, both the ECs objected to the declaration added to Form 6 stating any changes to Form 6 can only be done by the Government and not the ECI.
After Indian Express reported these objections by the two ECs, ECI (CEC Gyanesh Kumar) defended the changes as, โdeclaration attached to Form 6 has been upheld by SCโ, so its lawful, thereby sidestepping two Election Commissioners objections.
Today SC has clarified that they have not approved any changes to Form 6.
Questions:
1. Who added declaration to Form 6 ?
2. Isnโt adding a declaration to Form 6, a modification of Form 6 ?
3. Did the two Election Commissioners object to the addition/modification of Form 6 stating only the Government can amend Form 6 and not the ECI ?
4. If there were no such objections, why did the ECI on 26.9.2026 clarify that old Form 6 will be used during non-SIR period ? That means, ECI admitting that Form 6 was modified for SIR ?
5. Did the SC specifically approve modification of Form 6 ?
