Bengaluru Development Minister @krishnabgowda said 'Safe Footpath Campaign' will begin on July 1.
Shops can voluntarily clear footpath encroachments till July 1, after which strict action and fines will be imposed. SC has upheld pedestrians’ right of way & CM has directed enforcement.
The campaign covers 2,000 km of priority arterial and sub-arterial roads. Pushcart trade will be banned on major roads from July 1.
Around 1,000 road deaths occur annually in Bengaluru, of which 30% are pedestrians. Footpath parking will be strictly prohibited and vehicles will be towed.
Unclaimed vehicles will get notice stickers from July 1, with a 7-day window, followed by towing and auction from July 10.
Rs 70 crore has been allocated to repair footpaths across 2,000 km.
Potholes will be fixed using box-cutting methods, with priority repair of signals and junctions, removal of humps, and no parking within 75 metres of signals. @GBA_office@GBAChiefComm
@GargiRawat Why do have to make such a life and death deal? Next year is always there. In the big picture 1 year make no impact on ones career prospects. Maybe keep bigger time margins next time. Relax and progress in life.
@dpkBopanna Look at the nonchalant attitude of the guy listening, he cares as much for KBG's words as one would for a irritating mosquito. Wow the confidence of a govt job security is something else.
@blrcitytraffic Effective policing without harassment would be more effective than image campaigns. Why not use cameras and challan all rule breakers consistently to teach them to fear the law??
@Wad6377637hAjay@iAtulKrishan1@gurgaonpolice Posting here with demands may not help. Hope the victim has the patience to go and lodge an FIR. Such behaviour has to be punished.
A Made in Mysuru product that can turn your regular bicycle into an electric one in 5-10 minutes!
When we visited SJCE STEP in Mysuru for our meetup two weeks ago, we happened to meet Nishanth Patel, the founder of Karnad Engineering.
What Nishant and his team had built was fascinating. They had developed an small tiny apparatus that can be plugged into a regular bicycle and turn it into an electric bicycle in 5-10 minutes! What made it even more remarkable was that the entire product had been engineered, built, and assembled in Mysuru. They are a proud startup incubated at SJCE Science & Technology Entrepreneurs Park (STEP) led by @shivashankar_10.
Nishant's story was so compelling that we immediately decided to do a short recording with him, turn it into an Instagram reel, and publish it on Mundhe Banni Instagram profile.
The response was unbelievable.
Within just two days, the reel had grossed nearly 500,000 views, and Nishant's inbox is flooded with more than 200+ product inquiries.
Yesterday, Nishant messaged me saying that just a week earlier, the team had been feeling low. But suddenly, after receiving 200 plus inquiries, the entire team's energy had changed. They were excited, motivated, and ready to push harder than ever before.
The video also caught the attention of several founders in our network. @vivekanandahr of Bounce reached out and asked to be connected with Nishant. We happily did that.
Moments like these strengthen my belief that there is immense talent, ingenuity, and capability spread across Tier 2 and Tier 3 India. There are people building world class products and breakthrough technologies far away from the traditional startup hotspots. What many of them lack is not talent. What they lack is visibility, exposure, access, and sometimes the cultural confidence to believe that they belong in the same conversation.
Given the right platform and support, they too can build great companies and create meaningful impact at scale. I am 100% sure of that.
And if, in our own small way, we can help accelerate that journey, create a few opportunities, make a few introductions, or shine a light on a deserving founder, there is a deep sense of satisfaction in that. 🫶
Unlocking the potential in tier2/3 India requires a very different approach. It cannot be done through the conventional playbook alone. The realities, aspirations, constraints, and strengths of these entrepreneurs are different. There is also a huge role of language and cultural context involved in bridging the confidence gap. The support systems we build for them must be different too.
That belief is at the heart of why we are building @mundhebanni.
A fine job of storytelling by my colleagues @Shishir_S_U and Daniel naik

A tribute to the workhorse of the IAF and the brave souls who operate it. 🇮🇳
The An-32 flies the routes most won't, under conditions most can't. The recent crash is a heartbreaking reminder of the constant risks our Air Force personnel brave daily.
Saluting the dedication, the hard work, and the ultimate sacrifices made by the men and women of the Indian Air Force. Lest we forget. ✈️🖤
Nice! At last we will be carching up the chinese and the Americans. Will starlink be allowed in the meantime ? Or do we just wait it out?

@ChristinMP_@krishnabgowda Many prayers and wishes for.him to get the strength to coubter the garbage mafia, civil contractor and babu corruption nexus. Allocating funds is great but will he please curb the corruption and quality issues ?
OMG !at last someone is getting this removed. This dangerous obstruction to the main carriageway is done in many states. In WB on NH 12 this is every 100 odd meters!!.
Hope the criticisms on this thread make thier way to your desk. The last few years have had the middle class patience wearing thin. Reforms and tax breaks are badly needed. "Reducing government not governance" promises seem to have fallen by the way side. Farm, police and civic reforms not done. All the goodwill is evaporating, please wake up.

Time: Approximately 09:29 PM
Location: Kodigehalli Gate, Airport Road U-Turn, Dasarahalli Road Starting Point, Bengaluru
On the evening of 10 June 2026, light rainfall resulted in severe traffic congestion in and around Kodigehalli Gate. Long queues of vehicles had formed on the Main Road, Service Road, and extended up to Byatarayanapura Signal.
As a Traffic Warden and volunteer, I was assisting the Traffic Police and Home Guard personnel in managing and clearing traffic while wearing a reflective jacket. I was stationed at the U-Turn point, while a Home Guard was regulating traffic on the Service Road. We were working in coordination to reduce congestion and maintain smooth traffic movement.
At approximately 09:25 PM, a white Innova vehicle attempted to enter the Service Road by taking a U-Turn and proceeding in the wrong direction. The Home Guard on duty stopped the driver and instructed him not to proceed, but he refused to comply. An argument continued for nearly five minutes.
I then approached the driver and explained that there was heavy traffic congestion ahead and advised him to use an alternative route. However, he refused to follow my instructions and insisted on driving on the wrong side, claiming that he needed to enter his company premises located approximately 100 meters ahead.
The situation became more serious when the driver allegedly attempted to drive his vehicle toward me on three separate occasions. I immediately called 112 and informed the Control Room about the incident. During the confrontation, the driver challenged me by stating, “No one can do anything to me.”
I subsequently informed the Inspector of Hebbal Traffic Police Station about the incident. Acting promptly, he directed the traffic staff deployed at Kodigehalli Signal to respond to the scene. Both parties were then taken to the police station.
However, upon reaching the police station, the outcome left me disappointed. After hearing both sides, the driver was issued a fine of only ₹500 and was allowed to leave.
Several important questions still remain:
• Attempting to drive on the wrong side of the road.
• Obstructing traffic and contributing to congestion for nearly 30 minutes.
• Ignoring instructions issued by personnel managing traffic.
• Allegedly attempting to intimidate and drive a vehicle toward a person.
• Displaying threatening and aggressive behavior.
Are all of these actions serious enough to warrant only a ₹500 fine?
I was also informed that the matter was treated lightly because the driver had not misbehaved with a Traffic Police Officer. If that is indeed the reasoning, it raises a serious concern: Are the safety, dignity, and contributions of Traffic Wardens and volunteers considered less important?
I am not writing this post against any individual. Rather, I am raising a broader question. If a person intentionally attempts to drive a vehicle toward a citizen, volunteer, or Traffic Warden, should such conduct not be treated more seriously?
For many years, I have voluntarily assisted the Traffic Police and have always remained committed to serving the public interest. My only objective is to ensure that in the future, any volunteer, Traffic Warden, or ordinary citizen facing a similar situation receives appropriate protection, respect, and justice.
This incident also highlights another important concern. We often see that many people hesitate to help accident victims or assist during emergencies. One of the primary reasons is the belief that even after helping, their concerns may not be taken seriously, they may not receive adequate support, or they may become entangled in unnecessary complications. As a result, many people prefer to stay away from such situations.
Just saw a video of Zakir Khan on Instagram and it resonated with me immediately.
I genuinely don’t understand what makes some people assume that certain people don’t belong in Business Class, First Class, or premium spaces.
On my recent trip back to Mumbai, I walked up to the Business Class check-in counter at Vietnam Airlines. The staff immediately pointed me towards the Economy line.
Only after I showed my boarding pass did she realize her mistake and apologize.
Then on the flight, I noticed the cabin crew proactively offering drinks, snacks, and options to other passengers. My 8-year-old daughter was repeatedly overlooked until I specifically pointed out that she was a Business Class passenger too and should be asked independently, just like everyone else.
Before people jump in and say the problem is with me, I think many of us have experienced this at least once in our lives.
You pay for a premium service, yet sometimes you still have to prove that you’re entitled to receive it.
And I’m not talking about race, color, or nationality. I’m talking about assumptions people make at an individual level.
Have you ever paid for Business Class, VIP access, elite status, or a premium experience and still felt that someone assumed you didn’t belong there?
Karnataka RTO !
RTO Department is by far the most corrupt Police Department, look how they put everyone's lives at risk just for their illegal extortion
A bit harsh. He never said dont make own models, he said dont have to spend lots to be on top. Even now we can host and train models on our own. Many are doing it. But he's right in that most work will happen on the model application side not the model development. Of course there is a risk that we are cut off from the leading models, but thats not a dead end.
What next, are we going to clamp down on 5G netwroks as well? Pretty much all the fears expressed in this article are possible with it too.
