Indian democracy!
A person who works hard, pays taxes, follows rules, shows civic sense, and genuinely wants the country to progress has exactly the same electoral value as a selfish, freeloading, law-breaking, corrupt person with zero civic sense.
The problem is that the latter exist in far greater numbers. And politicians know it. So policies are naturally designed to squeeze the productive, tax-paying minority and redistribute it to the freeloading majority, because that is where the votes are.
A Sarpanch had two sons, Sonu and Pintu. The Sarpanch said, โI love both of you equally.โ Both were happy. Then he added, โHowever, I reserve the right to love Pintu a bit more. But remember, it still means I love both of you equally.โ
Sonu was confused but said alright. The Sarpanch then transferred 50% of his property to Pintu and told Sonu, โThat 50% is gone to Pintu. Forget about it. Consider the remaining 50% as all that I have. Both of you work hard, be good men, take care of me, and when I die, I will distribute this equally among both of you, because, as I said, I love both of you equally and do not discriminate between you two at all.โ
This is essentially Article 15 of the Indian Constitution, which says the state shall not discriminate among citizens on the basis of religion, race, caste, sex, or place of birth. Yet under the same Article, sub-clauses 15(3) to 15(4) constitutionally empower the state to make โspecial provisionsโ for certain groups and thereby enabling discrimination.
Sports Authority of India (SAI) invited applications for 323 assistant coach vacancies, and with that I learned that we have reservation in this too.
Lol! So athletes expected to compete with the worldโs best are trained by coaches selected not purely on merit, but through a welfare framework. This is what happens when sports are treated like a govt employment scheme rather than a national mission to build excellence.
While weโre at it, why not introduce reservation among players representing India in international sporting events like the Olympics? Designate 50% of sporting events as reserved, where only reserved-category persons can represent India, and keep the rest open.
If open-category players win more than 50% of the medals, strip them of their medals and book them under the Atrocities Act. Iโm sure this way weโll soon become Vishwaguru in sports too.
One of my School Seniors who was very close to me scored extremely well. Got Electrical Engineering in IIT Kharagpur because he was from General Category, meanwhile his fellas who were from a Specific Category and not even half of his Calibre in Academics got CSE.
This senior desperately wanted to Study CSE but he didnโt get CSE. Seeing all these people half of his Calibre studying CSE scoring less marks than him really Antagonised him and devastated him.
When he had Completed his second year and he came during the Vacation he told me only one thing โThe day I get a Degree Iโll move out and never return back.โ The day he got his degree he never returned back. Itโs been 10 Years he hasnโt returned. I happen to talk to him only on Video calls and WhatsApp calls. Him mom and Dad who have US VISA often visit him but he didnโt return.
Itโs very easy to call IITs to pathways to escape India but you need to see the other side of the Picture as well.
When someone studies 17-18 Hours a Day from 9th to 12th Std (in those Days) going to Coaching Coming home and Studying for hours and hours and he desires to get something at that age between 16-18 and Despite giving his 100% he is rejected because of some Political Bias in the system you canโt make him understand this. You simply canโt make him understand about these Affirmative Actions that crushes merit and gives preference to Discriminative Justice.
There are many such cases I can list, in one of the case a Friend of mine studying MBBS from a Government Medical College was Hounded by Boys from a Specific Community so much that he thought of Committing Suicide.
This is exactly why we started the movement to end freebies.
โ If even the ISRO Chairman is saying that IIT engineers refuse to join because the salary is too low, it should be an embarrassment for our government.
โ Every month some state proudly launches a new freebie scheme, but when it comes to the sectors that actually need money, the sectors that strengthen national security and build our future, suddenly the government acts broke and throws peanuts.
โ How can a country expect world class scientists when it spends more on vote banks than on its own space agency? This is the real crisis nobody wants to talk about.
#Endfreebies
Do you know who the rarest and most underrated people in the world ?
General Category males from lower-middle-class families.
They are truly extraordinary humans with no privilege and no support system.
Still keep pushing forward every single day, carrying the hope of fulfilling their familyโs dreams.
Big respect to them.
Amazon is laying off 14,000 employees, including in India, as AI takes over their roles.
The cruel part is how fragile private sector โstabilityโ is. You get a job, start earning, feel settled, plan a future, buy a house on EMI, and one fine morning the company decides to โdownsizeโ. Suddenly, youโre jobless. If a new job doesnโt come quickly, those EMIs can destroy your peace and your life.
And the govt! While you earn, you must pay taxes. The moment you lose your job, youโre on your own. Farmers get compensation when crops fail, despite many paying zero income tax, but a taxpayer losing his job gets practically nothing.
Maybe it's time to introduce reforms like make EMI pauses for few months more liberal for those who lose their jobs, and providing a time-bound monthly allowance for few months from the govt, except for disciplinary cases of course. Ladla/Ladlis can get free money, free ration, free water and electricity, so why not support a worker who has been paying taxes and contributing?
The MP govt has raised reservation in direct recruitment to 73%. The remaining 27% isnโt earmarked for general category, itโs open to all.
The matter went to the SC, where the MP govt, in its affidavit, made arguments like these:
The Varna system deprived 80% Bahujan Shudras of rights and exploited them for centuries.
This system, reinforced by ideas of Godโs will, rebirth, and fatalism, left Shudras so crippled that they could not even imagine resisting injustice.
Ram killed Rishi Shambuk for daring to perform jap-tap despite being a Shudra.
Dronacharya denied Eklavya because he was a Bhil.
All of this can be disproven with even a little scrutiny, yet itโs shocking to hear such statements from a BJP govt. One would expect them to bridge divides and unite Hindus, this does the exact opposite. And if BJP truly wants to follow this path, why stop short? Why not reserve 100% for Bahujans? Why not close the doors entirely to the general category and be done with it for once and all?
